Jungkook tiredly laid onto his bed after days of practices. He has been staying in the dorm for two days after the day he told her about not being at home a lot. Being in his bedroom, he felt like staying in here for whole day, doesn't want to bump into her.
He felt it was his responsibility to stay in the house and taking care of her, so he decided to go back home instead of staying in the dorm for another day. It was also his members convincing him to go back to his wife, so he did.
He was scrolling through his phone on his bed when he heard a glass shattered from downstairs. He flinched and stop scrolling while still processing what happened.
He became worried about Haeri after that. He slowly raised from his bed and made his way to the kitchen. As he reached the kitchen, he saw someone crouching behind the kitchen island. He approached her and saw her picking up the glasses.
"Are you okay ?" he asked. Haeri jolted up to the sudden voice came behind her. Instinctively, she hid right hand behind her and face Jungkook who looked at her with worried. Her eyes shifted from the scattered sugar jar and to Jungkook before smiling.
"Y-Yeah. Just.. the jar slipped from my hand." Haeri stuttered.
Jungkook felt a tug in his heart as he watched how Haeri acted different. He would never dreaming of seeing Haeri blushed or acting flustered in any condition. All he witnessed were composed Haeri who always take things under control.
He quickly looked down to the scattered glasses to dismiss the weird feelings came rushing into him again.
He took a broom and swept them clean into the shovel and dump it into the dustbin. He made sure that the floor doesn't left any speck of glasses or it will hurt any of them. He then went back to put the broom to its place and came back to see Haeri put a new bag of sugar into a new jar.
He watched as Haeri went back and forth in the kitchen, placing supplies that she need for something. He was busy watching that he didn't realize he was leaning to the doorframe by his shoulder with his hands in his sweatpants. As soon as he realized, he composed himself. He felt a burning sensation crept onto his face.
He glad that she didn't notice he was there.
He then approached her as she standing there with her finger on her chin, looking down to a huge book that situated on the kitchen island. Her eyes were frowned in focus as she read the instructions on the book. Jungkook went closer and saw that she was reading instruction on how to bake a chocolate cake.
Haeri who was focusing on the instructions, suddenly felt like the book shading under something. She scrunched as it was disturbing her focus. She turned around to see what was it but her face was almost touching Jungkook's. His body was almost touching her back, they would made a contact if she move her shoulder a bit.
Their face were almost touching each other. The heat from their breaths could felt on their skin, frozen the time around them, the sanity in their body. Their hearts pounding hard as they look into each other eyes.
"What are you baking ?" Jungkook broke the silence, trying to overcome his nervous self by ignoring it. His heart was pounding hard, but he thought maybe because of their closeness. He had never been this close alone with any woman before, or is he really ?
Haeri bit her lower lips as she felt her face heating. She looked down to the instructions to avoid Jungkook seeing her blushing herself.
"Chocolate cake." she answered firmly, like how Haeri would answer, but the shakiness can also be heard in her short sentence. Her heart was as if in part of a race. She scooted a little away from him to put a gap in between them. Her fingers were thumping on the kitchen island as she thought of things to do.
