It's been a week since the guys got to NOLA and I'm still waiting on my bestfriend to come home. "Ill be on my way home soon Ren." She assures me. I grab my bowl of fruit out the refrigerator and my other line rings. I look at my phone screen as August picture pops up. "It's Aug call me later." I click over
"You good?" He says as soon as I answer "I'm good. You? how is NOLA?" "I'm here wishing you were. Speaking of..." I sit down at my table in my dining room
"Yea..."
"What do you think about relocating? It'll only be until this shit blows over." I think about it
"I've got doctor appointments Aug, and what about Lo's shop?" He sighs "I need you safe and away from Jimere." I look around
"Jimere doesn't know where I stay." He chuckles "Bae if he found us in Cali, y'all are in the same state. I just want to be safe."
I shake my head and roll my eyes. As much as I don't want to admit it, he's right. "Ugh, what about Lo?"
"Ant going to get her now. Im going to send for you tomorrow. So get all you need to get done today and be ready by five tomorrow evening." I laugh
"You was gone relocate my as wether I said yes or no?" He laugh with me "Hell yea!"
"So you're serious August?"
Without hesitation
"Yes girl, I gotta get my babies away from that nigga." I began to think on the things I would have to do. I lay back on my bed and we chat for a few.
"Tomorrow can't come fast enough!"
He chuckles
"You tellin me. I'll do anything to hold you in my arms again."
I can't help but smile
"I don't have much to do only reschedule doctor appointments but that can be done over the phone."
"So pack some clothes for a few weeks, just in case." I sit up and look over to my closet full of clothes and shoes.
"Yea, I should probably get started now." He laughs
"That much work huh? You got a whole mall, I bet."
I roll my eyes and laugh myself
"Don't act like you know me! But yea." He snickers a little harder
"Well I guess I do know ya then."
"Yo Aug" I hear someone call off in a distance from him
"Nigga what you do fly there and back?"
Lo's laugh fills the speaker "Dam near, he did 120 almost the whole way here"
"Keep a low profile Ant!"
Ant laughs
"They ain't checkin for me ridin down Houston to Nola."
Aug sighs
"Bae I'll send for you tonight, if you want?"
"Yes, okay."
I hop up as fast as my baby will let me and grab my PINK tote and two of my ADIDAS totes, then started stuffing them with clothes, shoes, personals and a lot of baby stuff.
"Ren!"
London's voice startles me. I didn't realize she was on the phone.
"Lo girl I got so much shit.
She laughs
"Bitch you sound like me. Aug is calling his guy to come get you now." I look around the pile of clothes I'm in, looking for matches to bottoms and some tops.
"Anything to get me closer to him and away from Jimere."
"Speaking of Jim..."
"Hello" I call into the phone
The call drops and I look at my screen I try calling back but my phone won't even ring. I do the most to my phone. Shut all apps down, restart it, then took the battery out and put it back in. At this very moment I'm trying not to let my mind wonder to the worst thoughts. I sit here and stare at my totes for about ten minutes before my phone rang
"Hello" I answer a little frantic
"Are you okay? Aug's voice had all types of emotions
"Yes, I'm fine! Are y'all? What happen?
"Not sure bae! Lo just said the line went dead then hung up. We been trying to call you back for an hour now." I looked at my phone hadn't realized I'd been on the phone all day or that I was disconnected for an entire hour.
"Aug I didn't even realize it had been that long since the call dropped."
"That's my new device. You like?" His voice crept through my room and brought a cruel chill to my spine. I froze as he walked towards me
"Ren is that Jimere?"
August's voice broadcasted from my phone and the closer Jimere got to me the stiffer my body became. All I could think about was my baby.
He steps face to face with a speechless me and prys the phone from my hand.
"Yea, its me now come and get her." His fist met my face and I fell to the ground. He tossed the phone at me then hit the switch on the tool he was holding and my house fell dark.
