In the beginning, there were the four elements; water, fire, earth and air. There was also light, and darkness.
For a while, all was peaceful and good. But one day, light and darkness fought, and the four elements tried to stop them, but they were too weak.
So they circled light and darkness, and joined together and, only when working as one, did they manage to lock away light and dark.
But, in the process, the four elements were blown apart, and formed the planet Earth. For millennium all has been peaceful between the original six. But then one day, darkness broke from her slumber, and began to wreak havoc on the world.
She took the name Nerezza, which means darkness in Italian.
Feeling the change in the balance of light and dark, the spirit of light woke. She took the name Lucia, which is Italian for, simply, bringer of light.
Lucia tried to fight Nerezza, but the spirit of darkness was far too strong for her. She was drained of energy and, with the last bit of energy left in her heart, summoned the four element spirits. She was then thrown into a slumber that only the four spirits could wake her from. However, unlike light and dark, the elements were woken as babies, born into human life.
So it was another 18 years before their eyes were opened to their power, and they made contact with Lucia. But when they did, they found out just how important they were.
This is their story.
Or, more accurately, the story of how they woke me.
