Zakin flicked his hand sending droplets of blood flying. One of his 'claws' still had Nam's blood on it. He looked at the three wide-eyed girls, looked at his claw, then lifted it to his mouth and licked the blood off it. Ari cried out in disgust and terror, tears welling in her eyes. "How could you... How could you do that!?"
Zakin laughed. "Pathetic girl. She means nothing to me. I care for her as little as I care for this name. Zakin? Really? 'Pure one,' pathetic! My real name, and it sums me up so well, is Adol. My mistress sent me to rid her world of you pathetic worms. That's one down. Now to finish you off!" He lunged at the girls, his claws out, ready to rip and tear. Fly threw her hand up into the air, a wall of rock and earth stopping the hard claws. Adol cried put in fury, his claws lodged hard in the wall.
Ari looked at the river, her eyes watering. She saw the water moved. Her eyes widened, but after a minute of staring at the water, she put the movement down to simply the tears that filled her eyes. She turned as Adol's screams of anger turned to screams of pain as he tried to wrench his claws from the rock.
Suddenly, the water of the river began to bubble. All eyes turned to the river just as a massive jet of water sprayed high into the air. The water died down, revealing a blue-haired girl wrapped in streams of water. "Nam!" The girls screamed simultaneously, but it was not the Namaka they knew.
The water didn't form clothes, it just wrapped around her. Her eyes sparkled blue and her hair trickled down her back as though it was made of water. She held out her hand and a column of water shot up. She wrapped her fingers around the blue jet and it formed a long staff that curled into two points, one long and one short, quite similar to mine. At the very base of the staff a teardrop gem of fluorite sat in a semi-sphere of blue sapphire.
Her eyes locked on Adol, then she plunged into the water, forcing it out behind her and sending her flying along. She burst from the water, hit the ground hard and walked towards Adol. He screamed in fear, his cry doing nothing to slow the girl. She pulled her staff back and thrust it towards the boy. His screams got louder and he turned his eyes away from the staff but it stopped just short of touching him.
"Where is she?" Asked Nam in a voice that was not her own. The deep, booming voice came from her soul. Her element.
"I... I d-don't know."
"Where is she!?" Nam slammed the base of her staff against the rock, leaving a crack as she pulled it away. Adol quivered, stuttering his answer, his eyes wide.
"I d-d-don't know where she is, b-b-but sh-she told me that i-if you s-s-survive for me to t-t-tell you to go to D-D-D-Deephenge."
Nam turned, satisfied, and Adol sighed in relief. "Don't sigh yet," Nam whispered beneath her breath. She swung around, her staff out, and Ari screamed "no!" believing she was about to kill the boy, but the staff stopped spinning, right as it touched the boy's forehead. Five tubes of water curled from the centre of his forehead to the centre of the back of his head. For a moment, everyone was still, then the water sank into his head, and he slumped against the wall.
"Is he..."
"No." The voice boomed through Namaka, before her eyes rolled up into her head, and she fell to the ground.
"Nam!" Screamed Ari, running towards her. By the time she reached her friend, Nam was wearing the clothes she had been wearing before her heart had been ripped out. She timidly opened her eyes. "Huh... What happened?"
"Your heart!" Ana pointed at Namaka's chest. She gently put her hand out, touching her chest. "Nam... It's beating." The girls all looked at each other, bewildered.
"Found it!"
"What?"
"Your heart!" The girls squealed as Fly held up the heart.
"Ew, what are you doing!?"
"If someone finds this heart they'll think someone died."
"Oh, right." Fly threw the heart into the air and caught it. As she did, rock began to spread from the centre of the heart, covering it and making it look like a rock. She then put her hand on the ground, causing it to open up beneath the blood and water that covered the ground before re-closing over the top. Then she walked over to Adol, putting her arm under his.
"Help me hold him, would ya?" She put her hand against the rock wall and it crumbled away.
"Okay, let's take him to the police, then we go to Deephenge!"
