Namaka put her hand to her chest. As soon as her fingers touched, the water all flowed back to her soul. Analaa and Flidais looked at each other, then pressed their hands to their hearts. Their elements, too, went back to their souls. Fly rolled up her sleeve to reveal a green leaf. But when she checked her hair, nothing had changed.
"Lucia. What happened?"
"Huh?"
"Why isn't anything different with my hair?"
"Cuz this is the second time you've changed."
"What!?"
"Yeah. You changed when, uh... Your dad died."
"But the mark...?" She dismissed the comment about her father, and I stifled a sigh of relief.
"Uh... Since it looks like a tattoo, and you can't have a tattoo until you're, I think 18, it didn't show up. Your spirit is smart like that. But the hair still changed."
"Guess I'll have to kill myself then."
"Why?" Asked Ari, her eyes wide.
"Cuz I swore on my life I'd had them since I was born!" She cried pointing to the green streaks. The other girls sighed in relief, then burst out laughing.
"Look! Your fringe!" A streak of green was shooting through Fly's fringe. It fell into her eye.
"Come on guys, ocean's this way!" Nam raised her hand and the girls started flying, water drops floating around them, filling the sky.
"Hey Nam, I'm running on water!" Ana was standing, running forward clumsily. After a few steps she fell over and started spinning around as her centre of gravity shifted. All the girls burst out laughing as the red head struggled to stand. Ari threw her hand to the left, up, then diagonally down and to the right. Ana's body swirled around until she was upright agin.
"Thanks, Ari."
"Yeah, Nam. She's in your element but you leave me to help!"
"Well so-rry!" She said, splitting the word in half.
"Guys! The ocean!" Fly pushed herself forward, down towards the water. The others quickly followed. A massive smile spread across Nam's face, her eyes lighting up. She skimmed over the ocean, her hands trailing through the water. Just then, she dove down, flying under the ocean. The near-full moon illuminated her figure shooting forward as fast as a rocket. After about thirty seconds she burst from the water, huge columns of the dark liquid shooting up around the girls. Her blue hair shimmered with water. Suddenly, the water soaked into her hair, which then began to glow. Her eyes opened wide and she felt a rush in her soul. Her whole body shimmered at her new-found power, and she flew around and around, up and down. The whole world seemed to disappear until it was just Nam and the water. She let everything go, until she heard screaming.
Nam turned around to see her friends plummet into the cold water.
