Prologue (part 2)

(Y/n pov)
The woman who took me inside seemed awfully concerned the second she found out I was a fox Faunus, she pulled my hood back up over my head to cover up my ears and was now leading me to talk to someone called "Headmaster".I saw and heard other children as I walked behind her some of them were looking at me curiously as I followed her up some stairs.eventually we stopped at a door and she knocked on it.

Alina:"Headmaster Elric? I'm back from buying groceries I have an urgent matter than i need to discuss with you"

???:"come in Alina" I heard a voice from inside say she then opened the door and lead me into an office that seemed pretty small to be an office she turned leaned out and looked both ways in the hallway and closed the door I turned back around and saw a pair of chairs, a desk, a grandfather clock and a painting on the wall of a very fancy looking building it kind of looked like a school but I couldn't be sure, behind the desk a man was sitting down he had a on glasses his hair had slight grey areas to it and he was wearing a dress shirt and tie with suspenders on while a jacket was draped over the chair he was sitting in, he was writing something down while next to him I saw a small stack of papers.

Headmaster:"(sigh) there...even though our orphanage is in need of repairs to the structural foundation the mayor still sees fit to levy taxes on us "taxes are indiscriminate" he says honestly where does he get-" the man suddenly stopped when he noticed me standing next to Ms. Alina "oh Alina who is this? I hadn't noticed him until you entered"

Alina:"Headmaster Elric I found this boy sitting on the steps when I returned with atra from buying groceries and also...(Y/n) would you mind pulling off your hood?" She asked me I nodded and pulled it off and letting my ears pop out and pulled up my sweater letting my tail fluff out since I've had it tucked in so it wouldn't get wet from the rain which seemed to surprise the headmaster and Ms. Alina since I saw both of their eyes widen simultaneously."headmaster there's one more thing you must see" I said as I pulled out the note (Y/n) had handed me outside and gave it to him.

Headmaster:"hm and what's this?"

(Timeskip of headmaster Elric reading the note and realizing the situation)

(Headmaster pov)

I had finished reading the note, this form of child abandonment wasn't something that we haven't experienced before however the real problem was the amount of trauma that the poor child would suffer and to make matters worse the child left behind was a Faunus something that in this day and age are treated as a second class citizens.

Headmaster:"so (Y/n) was it? It seems that your parents love you very much but for whatever circumstances they felt you'd be safer if you were left here us" I said attempting to soothe the boys conscious of any misgivings he may have about any of this being his fault. I stood up and walked around the desk up to him took a knee in front of him and gently began to stroke his (H/c) hair "at any rate were not going to toss you out into the cold and let you fend for yourself you've found a new home with us along with a new family" he perked up his ears the second he heard me say family."so (Y/n) as long as your here consider yourself as a member of our family what do you say?" I asked.

It took him a few seconds to process what he'd heard and begun to tear up so I simply pulled him into a hug and stroked his back like a parent would to their child to comfort them he returned the hug and began to sob uncontrollably into my shoulder I looked up at Alina and saw her fighting back tears in her eyes so I motioned for her to join us, she immediately did falling to her knees and wrapping her arms around (Y/n) and myself keeping him in between the both of us and weeping silently.

(3rd person pop)

As all three of them were having a moment of emotion in headmaster Elric's office Atra had come up to the let them know that dinner was ready she was about to knock on the door until she could hear sobbing coming from inside her curiosity caught the better of her and she slowly turned the knob and pushed the door open a little to look through a crack in the door and saw them kneeling down and comforting a crying (Y/n) she smiled at what she saw and let them be closing the door and walking away.

Atra:(thinking)"that poor boy is going through so much just being deserted by his parents all of a sudden...I wonder how he'll cope?"she thought to herself walking down the hallway after seeing him cry like that she wanted to hug him herself and tell him "everything's going to be ok" she knew all too well the feeling of being unwanted, all of a sudden she stopped "I wonder how old he is?...he looks like he's about my age and I think those fox ears of his are pretty cute too" she said "I wonder..." she trailed off in thought

(Meanwhile)

(At a meeting the town hall)

Mayor: (talking into speaker on phone)"so the schnee dust company laid claim to large amounts of land of commercial land that seems to have little use may I ask why?"

Speaker:"our survey teams have detected abnormally rich veins of dust and we'd like to move in and begin mining operations to shut out potential competitors for mining rights"

Mayor:of course of course I was planning on auctioning off the land to some farmers but then all of a sudden the schnee dust company contacts me with a very "generous offer" so how could I refuse it especially since I have a few debts that need to be taken care of.

Speaker:"exactly right, however one pressing matter remaining is the need for manual labor that will be required once the mines are ready to open"

Mayor:"don't worry I'll just make a public announcement it'll be awhile before the mines are ready to open anyway and I've got a guy who's been bugging me nonstop for lien for him and his bunch of street urchins but now they'll be able to work for the Lien that they've been wanting so badly and that I'll be able to press a few "extra taxes" for ...yep everybody wins"

(In a forest growing on the outskirts of town not far from where the construction is taking place)

(A wormhole flickers open causing a violent windstorm to erupt shaking trees and frightening local Grimm roaming the area, something falls out of the wormhole seconds before it closes smashing into the ground)

(??? Pov)

Ai voice:(static) i-i-impact co-o-mpromised fuel systems (static) fusion c-c-cells draining quickly...p-pilot what is your status?

Pilot:...

Ai voice:...p-p-pilot your status?

Pilot...

Ai voice:...pilooooootttt(voice cuts out as power supply ends)
