Chapter 17: Wanted: (Y/n) (L/n)

(1 Week later)

(3rd person POV)

The sun had set and the room was dark, a Faunus boy was laying in his makeshift bed tossing and turning trying to get some sleep but it proved to be a lot more difficult than he initially thought. He wasn't sure what time it was but he knew it was still early in the night where people would be out and about in droves instead of being at home sleeping. His ears perked up as he heard footsteps approaching in the hallway outside, he turned over in his bed and saw the light from the hallway illuminating underneath the doorframe as a several shadows passed by from right to left and continued as the footsteps grew fainter.

He sighed as he sat up into a kneeling position, pushed off the blanket covering his body and rubbed his eyes in the darkness of his room. He wondered why these people would try so hard to keep him isolated in this nearly empty room of his. He brought his legs around from the kneeling position he was and lowered his feet to the cold concrete floor. He couldn't see where he left his shoes from the dim light of the hallway being the only thing that illuminated the room even slightly but he knew they were at the foot of the bed as he slid his feet around the floor trying to feel for them.

Suddenly his ears perked up once again as he heard a pair of feet approaching from the hallway, he stared at the door as a shadow came to a stop underneath the doorframe and the sound of a lock being turned was heard. He continued to stare as the door opened and the someone entered the room, they're face was obscured by the darkness due to them wearing a hood over their head as they walked into the room holding a tray in their hands.

"Dinner time kiddo" a mans voice said, confirming that the hooded figure was in fact a male as they approached the boy sitting on the bed and laid the tray down on the bed next to them before sitting down.

The boys stomach growled when he saw his meal on the tray before him, There was a paper plate that had Macaroni & Cheese, a bottle of soda, a bag of Faunus crackers and a container of pudding. It didn't seem like very much to be called dinner but the boy didn't care. He picked up a plastic spoon that was laying on the tray, scooped up some macaroni and ate it. His tail swayed behind him as he chewed happily, tasting the amount of cheese that was used to coat the macaroni was sublime. He set the spoon down after several more mouthfuls and picked up the bottle of soda, he struggled to get it open but eventually managed to get the lid open as he took a sip of its contents.

"Mmmmm" He murmured upon realizing that the soda was (F/f) flavored. The only light in the room was coming from the open door to the dimly lit hallway so he couldn't make out the flavor of it from the label but his taste buds gave him the answer prompting him to take another large gulp before sealing the bottle again and setting down on the tray. Suddenly a glow caught his attention as he looked up and saw the person who brought him his food was now staring at a scroll they were holding in their hand.

"D-Dad?" The boy asked questioningly as he identified the man who's face was now visible to him. The man looked away briefly from his scroll as he looked at the boy while he maintained a neutral look in his facial expression.

"Aren't you gonna eat anything?" The boy asked his father, seeing as he already opened his bag of Faunus crackers and pulled a Giraffe Faunus cracker out of the bag and offered it to his dad.

"Uh, no no it's alright kid I already ate you go ahead and eat everything up it's all yours." He said to his son as he gently pushed away the hand that was offering him the cracker.
