Chapter 3: One door closes another opens

(3rd person pov)

(Y/n) was in a state of utter confusion his heart was heavy with the fact that he'd be leaving the orphanage taking what little he possessed so that the police wouldn't plague the headmaster or anyone in the orphanage as being accomplices and be charged with "harboring a fugitive" and have them arrested and now all of a sudden someone he's never met before claims they have "an offer you cannot refuse"

(Y/n):"uh I'm (Y/n), (Y/n)(L/n) and what do you mean by that?"

Ozpin:"well it's simple Elric here contacted me and telling me the police were searching for you claiming you were the aggressor in a mugging that took place today apparently this came as a surprise to him since you've had no run in whatsoever with the law before"

(Y/n):"its true some jerks try to beat me up and I used my semblance to avoid them"

Prof goodwitch:"your semblance? And what might that be?"she asked him fixing her glasses

(Y/n):"my semblance lets me pass through people and solid objects" he said walking up to professor goodwitch and reached toward her activating his semblance passing his hand arm through her body momentarily she looked astonished for a moment and then unnerved after he was finished his demonstration Professor ozpin however looked at him with a look of curiosity.

Ozpin:"(Y/n) does your semblance require the use of dust in any shape or form?"he asked with a questioning look

(Y/n):"no I mean I work in a dust mine but I never really tried to use the dust on myself to regenerate or enhance my semblances ability"he replied to ozpin who still observing him

Ozpin:"I see...at any rate the offer I announced earlier is this: I would like you to come with me and attend beacon academy as a student in exchange I can offer you a comfortable place to stay on school grounds and training to become a huntsman to serve the kingdom of vale as well as grant you a clean slate from this "crime you committed" while you attend school grounds"

(Y/n) was in shock he wasn't expecting this kind of offer to be extended towards him this was certainly better than wandering as a fugitive and starting over in an entirely new kingdom but before he accepted he had a BIG issue to address

(Y/n):"professor ozpin i would like to accept your offer however there is an...acquaintance that I met recently that I'm afraid I'm currently inseparable from as of today" he said as everyone in the room gave him a look of confusion as he motioned them to follow him

(Y/n pov)

I lead them outside into the lot we called our backyard behind the orphanage i wasn't sure what there reaction would be when they saw RZ for the first time but upon stepping out I saw the lot empty and RZ wasn't anywhere in sight

Headmaster:"so (Y/n) where is this "acquaintance" you spoke of...it wouldn't happen to be a girl would it?"

Alina:"a girl? (Y/n) is that who this "inseparable acquaintance" is? Ooooh that's so sweet" she said as she covered her mouth while my tail stood up on end at them immediately jumping to conclusions

(Y/n):"Quit jumping to conclusions! That's not who I wanted you guys to meet but I wonder where he-"

RZ:"pilot I have conducted a sweep of the perimeter and my scans reveal no law enforcement has yet been alerted to my presence"
