Chapter 22: Build/Ruining Relationships

A/N:Everyone, I have an announcement waiting at the bottom of this chapter. I'm sure some of you already know what it's about but if you don't please give it a read.

(Y/n POV)

The shop was nearly emptied out, it was pushing past 10PM so it was already closing time for most shops and stores that were still had their doors open. I really wasn't all up for doing this but this was going to be my 2nd "Initiation" into helping them.

They tasked me to rob this dust shop along Neo, snatch up every lick of dust we could carry and beat feet before the cops came, Simple enough. There was just one particular set of details that just didn't sit right with me.....

I WAS WEARING ROMAN'S CLOTHES!!!

Don't get me wrong that Warm shower I had earlier today felt SO GOOD! I hadn't showered for almost a Damn week! So when I asked on a whim if they had any where I could clean myself off and Cinder directed me to a bathroom with a working shower in this Hideout of theirs, I almost felt like they were bullshitting me.

I took such a load off when I walked into the spray of the shower. I stood there for a few minutes just letting the warm water hit my bare body and soak my hair including my Fox ears and finally my tail before I started scrubbing myself thoroughly since there was who knows how much muck and grime built up on my skin.

(Y/n):"Oh! This is probably a chemical shower!" The sudden realization came to me as I stared up at the shower head finally coming to the conclusion of how exactly this facility was equipped with a shower.

This place must've been somewhere where hazardous chemicals were being handled so it made sense to have a chemical shower standing by for anyone unlucky to get soaked in the hazardous materials being handled here. I rinsed off my body in the water before it was time to move on to cleaning my tail. I had to sit down in the bath so I could actually reach around my back and bring my tail around so I could scrub it properly.

"Never! That's completely unacceptable!!! A proper gentleman must be well groomed at all times no matter what the occasion, be it dinner alone or a social event!"

I heard Weiss's words echo in my head when she find out I'd never washed my tail out before.

(Y/n):"Weiss you'd be proud to know I took your words to heart!" I said out loud as I shampooed a glob into the fur on my tail and scrubbed with my hands.

I stopped scrubbing for a second as my Fox ears perked up. I thought I heard a faintly quiet creak sound out, Did someone just open the bathroom door?

I couldn't make it out since the water from the shower head was drowning out most of the sound in here when it hit the tile floor under my feet. I looked towards the shower curtain for a bit before I brushed it off and went back to scrubbing my tail. Once I finished I stood up from my sitting position to rinse off as I stood up facing the shower curtain.

That's when I saw something, a shadow pass by towards the bottom segment of the shower curtain as it disappeared out of sight. I blinked rapidly for a second before I stepped to the right of the shower curtain and pulled it back some to reveal an empty bathroom. There was no one in sight and yet I could've sworn what I just saw wasn't some heat induced hallucination of mine.

(Y/n):"No way that wasn't real..." I muttered feeling really creeped out as closed the curtain again.

For the rest of my shower I had a overwhelming sense of paranoia. I would peek out from behind the curtain to make sure no one was there before going closing it again. Of course the second I got out was when I got my answer in the form of the fresh set of  clothes that were waiting for me, Roman's clothes to be specific, along with a note attached.
