Chapter 16: The Past doesnt always stay buried

(Y/n POV)

Now that we'd dealt with the Ursa's trying to kill us me and Haru we're making our way back towards the othersI was busy cleaning off the specks of blood that were still on my skin I planned on taking a shower as soon as we got back to beacon, meanwhile Haru seemed to be playing 20 Questions with me.

Haru:"You seriously can't remember how you killed that Ursa on your own?" He asked me for about the 3rd time.

(Y/n):"No dude I'm telling you all I remember was that thing pinning me down and snarling at me the whole time until I just...blacked out" i said to him telling him the honest to Oum truth.

He only gave me a glance of confusion, as if he was trying to discern whether I was telling him the truth or not with those mix of light and dark blue eyes of his before turning back forward in the direction he was heading. When he was looking at me I noticed the scar going across his left eye again back when I first ran into him during the initiation, I was compelled to ask how he he got it, I started to speak up but something inside me told me that maybe it'd be best to keep to myself for now. I felt a wave of awkwardness passing between us as we kept walking towards where we left Jaune and the others.

After walking for a time and a half we made it back to where we left Jaune and Lilly protecting Cardin's stinking ass. What I saw legit surprised me, I saw Jaune helping cardins gorilla frame off the ground meanwhile Lilly was standing a few feet away with her shotgun in her hands. I was ready to step in and bust Cardins smile crooked if he tried to slug Jaune again until he spoke up.

Jaune:"Don't ever, Mess with my team, with my friends, again. That includes (Y/n), right?" he said with an actual hint of threatening manner in his voice

(Y/n):"Damn Jaune finally putting some bass in your voice" I muttered to myself as I watched the scene unfolding before my eyes.

I saw Cardin looked slightly dumbfounded at Jaune's sudden change of attitude. He looked past Jaune at Lilly who simply cocked the shotgun in her hands as she flashed him the CREEPIEST smile I'd ever seen her make thus far, Cardin face immediately turned pale and I swore I he completely shit his pants as he nodded as fast he could. In all honesty she succeeded in scaring the hell out of me, except the only difference was that I wasn't the one who sharted their pants.

Jaune let go of cardins hand and begun to walk away as both me and Haru begun to walk after him.

(Y/n):"It's High Noon" I said to him as we walked past him, knowing full well he was going to be doing "the cowboy walk" all the way back to beacon with his fudge newborn smearing the insides of his boxers.

I heard him growl something under his breath as I walked past him something about "You'll get yours soon enough" I think but I paid him no mind as me and Haru followed jaune. However once Lilly caught sight of me she gasped like someone with asthma who desperately needed their inhaler.

Lilly:"(Y/N)! WHAT IN REMNANT HAPPENED TO YOU!!!" She shrieked when she saw me catching jaune's attention as she dashed up to me,clapped her hands on my cheeks and turned my entire head right to left, up and down as she began inspecting me all over for wounds.

(Y/n):"Lilly I'm fine, it's just-"

Jaune:"Fine! Then who's blood is on your collar!?!" Jaune asked in a surprised tone of voice

Come to think of it I hadn't actually taken a good look at myself since Haru came and hauled me to my feet. The sleeves of my jacket had red splotches on them now that I was actually paying attention to my clothes. I raised my hand up to my collar as tugged it so I could outwards so that I could bring it within my eyesight. When I did I saw my collar was stained with bloody splotches, however the lower half of my sweater and my pants seemed to be perfectly fine.
