After last night with Aaron, I find myself much more quiet. Silence is my favorite option and all I have been doing is thinking. I've also worked on avoiding reading other minds when they may not want it. However, now I stand in a new room to Apate's shop to get my fortune.

When I first took a step into the room, I found myself stepping onto checkered marble flooring. From the corner of the room, I'm able to hear a piano playing. I take my eyes upward, meeting the sight of an empty ball room of sorts. The walls are far away and enormous compared to the outside of the shop. Then my eyes meet the dome of the ceiling. It's decorated with a beautiful storyboard and painting. The first part is closest to me, showing a girl similar to me next to what looks to be my old jail buddy, Casper. A thick, dark line separates the two of us as the dome is split between two stories. His side continues with him standing next to small scyra with brown curly hair, glasses, and purple scyra eyes accompanied by a tiny red and yellow dragon at his feet. It then goes on, showing a human with light brown skin and curled hair. The figure has peircings along his ears and bandages covering his wrists and forearms. The human is shown kissing my friend's cheek. However, the next bit shows only the boy and a black haired man with the same purple eyes facing each other. The small dragon sits below their faces, watching them. The last part before it enters my half ends the story with Casper, the one who kissed him, and the boy all hugging each other. It's like they all overcame a hard time or death.

My side, however, begins with me standing with Aaron, Lyra, Arthur, and the person who kissed Casper. All of us look to the next part as it shows only two playing cards surrounded by black and red roses, side by side they're shown. One of them is the king of hearts, the other being king of spades. The kings on both cards resemble two very different men. The king of spades looks like the black haired man from Casper's story. The king of hearts is completely different other than his purple scyra eyes. He has white hair and pointed ears, revealing him to be a urian. Not only that, he has two hearts on his cheeks that match the hearts on the card.

The third part shows Aaron and I, holding each other with two shadows behind us. They match our shape but their red glowing eyes throw me off and instantaneously freak me out, leading my eyes to the last part. This one is far more different than the rest. It's nearly pitch black. The only color that I can see is small red words along the border of the panel. I try to move closer and read it, however it's just too far away to decipher.

"Isn't this place beautiful?" I lightly gasp and straighten up as Apate's voice echoes through the room. The piano stops on a rough chord and I'm then left in silence, only searching for where Apate could be. "Sorry that I scared you," her heels begin clicking against the hard floor, "I'm over here, by the way." My attention is then taken to a staircase to my right. She's seating herself at the second to last step, gesturing me to join her. I begin to take myself to her.

"Is this all magic?" I ask, sitting next to her. She sighs but then laughs to herself, resting her hand on my shoulder. "Ah, darling, it's something." I tilt my head, confused but intrigued by her words. "It's a good something right?" I find myself asking yet another question, I really shouldn't but I'm honestly just the type to do that. "Is anything really that good? I mean, everything has it's downsides. Right?" She replies, leaving me to think for a moment.

"Why can't I read your mind?" I start getting slightly annoyed with her confusing answers. I can't get anything from her head, irritating me even more. "I...can't tell you that. However, I can tell you about your future." Right as she says this, I get one thing from her mind.

Tahain.

What?

"Tahain? Who's that?"

Apate freezes.

"He's...a scyra." She lets out a sigh, realizing she doesn't have a way out of this. "He has a lot to do with you and your little crew. He'll also be the reason you become one of the strongest scyras ever known." Apate then stands up and begins walking up the stairs. I assume she wants me to follow. "I cannot tell you the entire story, it's against my guildlines and other things. But I will tell you that Tahain is important to your future." She reaches the top step and pauses, turning her head to check on me. I continue going up. "He'll be important to both of your childen and their friends. Casper's life will be heavily affected by him as well."

I come to a halt.

Casper.

Casper knew someone named Tahain.

"Sonya, do you know Casper's full name? And are you aware of-" She completely stops all actions and words. I get up to her and try to see if she's okay, even if it's for the selfish reason of wanting answers. "Apate? Miss?" I lightly press my hand on her shoulder, turning to meet her face to face. Her eyes are wide and looking upward as her breath is loud and heavy.

Apate closes her eyes and shakes her head, leading up to the entire scene melting to a room made of mirrors and with a flooring covered in pink and blue pant. "I'm so sorry." She pushes me to the other side of her, then pushing me closer to the exit. "Wha..What? Aren't you going to finish-" Before I even finish what I was asking, I'm out the door. "I'll have Aaron in twenty minutes." She slams the door on me when I try to go back. I can suddenly feel five pairs of eyes on me, that includes Aaron's snakes.

"Woah," Lyra comes up to me looking concerned, "what was that about?" I huff and take myself to where Aaron and Arthur are sitting. They have their cards put away and are snuggled up together under Arthur's blanket. I use my cape as my own blanket and put my hand out to Blossom, who's peaking her little head under the edge of the blanket. Lyra comes up behind me and bends down to meet my level. "Yo, Sonya, you can't ignore me." She attempts to get me talking but I ignore her. I don't want to talk about it right now, I need to think first.

Blossom slithers into my hand and up my sleeve, I can sense shock coming from both Arthur and Aaron as the yellow holographic snake joins me in my warmth. She repositions her long body and pokes out her head, looking directly at Aaron. "Oh, you little shit." Aaron hisses at the snake and then rolls his eyes. He scoots closer to Arthur and rests his head on the taller boy's shoulder. "Fuck you, Blossom. I have someone better." He grins, sliding his arms around Arthur under the blanket and sticking his tongue out. I giggle, but Arthur's dead silent. His face is nearly as bright pink as his hair. And I say nearly because it's more of a deep red along his cheeks. "Mmm, Arthur, you're really hot." Aaron rubs his cheek into Arthur's shoulder, causing Arthur to look away in complete embarrassment. It's funny. As much as Arthur fucks around with Aaron about sexual things and does gay things to catch Aaron's attention, he still gets incredibly flustered when Aaron does anything.

"Aaron, you're torturing poor Arthur," I make myself seem like I'm sympathizing for the empath, "but I can't tell if he's hates it or loves it." It takes Arthur only three seconds to get up and completely leave out of complete embarrassment and anger. He leaves Aaron and I alone together, other than the snakes. Aaron falls to the ground in defeat and I just look down at him. "It just got a thousand degrees colder." The boy shivers, continuing to lay and suffer. "You can join me instead, I have plenty of warmth." I offer a better option than freezing on the ground, but Aaron just physically stops functioning right at that moment. "I, uh. No, no. You don't...don't. You don't have to do that...I'm fine. I, um, don't, don't worry about me."

Jesus fuck.

"Ah, okay. Haha." I breathe in, not knowing what else to say. The mood becomes awkward as silence fills the air. Aaron continues to lay on the sidewalk and I just quietly sit with Blossom resting comfortably in my sleeve. I look around, finding Arthur huddled in a blanket ball about ten feet away. Lyra is looking inside her wallet, most likely looking over something she has in there. My eyes then go back to Aaron right before Apate returns.

"I'll take Aaron now! I apologize for the wait!" Aaron immediately pops up, taking himself inside the building. I still have Blossom, but he has his other snake. I sit in silence as I start waiting for his return, only to have myself to think about my "fortune."
