Miah just brought home a bunch of complete strangers and apparently, they're just as confused as the rest of my family and I.

"Miah did what?! Where are these people?!"

Neveah snaps, nearly dropping the raw turkey she's holding. She turns to the counter, plopping the metal container with the turkey in it down and then sharply coming back to me. I form an awkward grin, being very unsure of what to say or do. I just hope she doesn't get really mad and yell at Miah.

"They just came in a few minutes ago. Maybe you should-" I answer, then getting pushed as Neveah takes herself into the living room. I follow close behind to get a better look at these people. When my sister and I reach the living room, the first person I notice is the biggest guy in the group. I catch his gaze right as he is pulling a rubber band out of his hair. White, pink, and nearly burgundy strands fall to his shoulders.

Long, colorful hair.

Millions of freckles.

Two completely different eyes.

His skin looks like it's glowing.

And he's bulkier than anyone else in the room, but it's all thrown off by the lavender sweater he wears.

I'm still intimidated.

"Oh! Veah! These are my friends. I told them they could stay the night and eat food with us." Jeremiah exlpains, giving Neveah the tea. However, I can tell that these people aren't from town. My eyes go to the smallest of the four, he is a dramatically different scyra compared to the other guy. He's short and slim, and he has natural brunette curls. His attire makes him look so badass, with his racer jacket and black clothes.

However, he has snakes.

One big, yellow, snake with weird antennas on it's head is hanging off of his shoulders. A, much smaller, cornsnake has it's tiny head poking out of the jacket's pocket. The sight of the two slithery creatures sends a shiver down my spine. I hate snakes.

"I can't really say no can I?" Neveah sighs, looking absolutely done with Miah for a moment until she smiles and pats Miah on the back. "As long as you guys behave yourselves, I'm fine with it. Be careful and don't burn the house down." She turns around, sneaking an irritated glare at be right as she walks back into the kitchen.

Then I'm left with these strangers and my brother.

One of the girls in the group approaches me and I can feel my entire stomach twist into a pretzel. She has black hair that brushes against her shoulders, her scyra eyes are hazel. I take a moment to notice the pastel pink cloak covering her body. Her skin is rather pale, reminding me of snow.

"My name's Sonya. You're Gabe, right?" She asks, I nod. "Dude, you brother is wild. He saw us and then just brought us here." My heart skips a beat, he didn't even make sure these people were safe. I sigh, attempting to calm my nerves. "We're not bad scyras, Gabe, don't worry." Sonya smiles, trying to reassure me. Rather than it helping, it makes me even more uncomfortable. How did she know why I was uncomfortable? Well, I think anyone would be a little unsettled by four random scyras in their living room.

"Guys, c'mon!" Miah directs the group into our bedroom, dragging me along. From the back of the group, I have both of my sisters pulling me by the wrists. I wince at the sudden sting I feel where both of their hands grab me and pull, the pain is almost more than a little shock. I slap a broken smile on my face to hide the fact that I have issues, however the tall guy from the group looks back. He gives me a wide-eyed and worried expression as his eye and glowing skin become just a little bit brighter than before. It creates a stomach pinching pain when I notice him, I hope he didn't just find out about that.
