"Alright."
I slam an open book on the dining room table, creating a satisfying and loud noise when it hits the surface. I look up from the page, facing the entrance and nearly everyone else in the house. Arthur isn't around yet and both Lucy and Alec are still in the library.
"The piece of paper is connected to a spirit, hence why it makes it's own decisions and has an unusual energy connected to it." I lift my eyes to check for everyone's attention. Luckily for them, they are actually giving me their eyes back at me. Even the human has his eyes focused on me. "There are several ways to negotiate and undo the spirit's doings, but we only have one option. We need pure human blood, untouched by demons and lacking of scyra abilities." A sense of intense satisfaction comes over me as everyone's head turn to Gabriel. I crack a grin, the human looks around before getting a firm frown on his face.
"No! I'm not doing anything for you!" Gabriel fiercely yells, coming at me with his voice. According to all of the shocked faces in the room, this is abnormal for Gabriel. I would agree. I have yet to see Gabriel do something other than keep to himself, his yelling in impressive in my eyes. Especially for him.
"Funny. Last time I checked, you would be doing it for yourself and everyone else in the house too." I walk around the table, standing less than a foot away from his face. He sits below me, allowing myself to be more intimidating. "Not just for me." Gabriel's face softens for a second, but it returns to that tough-guy look as he stands up. He becomes the bigger person, being that he is taller than I am.
"You can get one of your little scyra friends to do it because I refuse to something for the man that tore my family apart." He speaks to my face, pushing me back before walking out of the room. Everyone is silent, I grunt, stepping to the door but Aaron beats me too it. The little scyra glares at me, slamming the door behind him. I turn back to the table, Lyra is the first I notice out of her, Grayson, and Sonya.
"Tahain, you need to lay back with Gabe. He lost two of his brothers and the cause is directly connected to you." Lyra's voice is soft, I desperately force myself to calm down. I can't lose it in front of Lyra, especially if I want to prove myself to be a good person to her. Grayson springs up from having his head on the table, he appears confused.
"Can someone please tell me what the hell happened? Arthur is covered in scars and now Gabe has problems too?" Grayson snaps, miniature sparks of electricity coming off of his ears. Lyra flinches, still mentally scarred from the previous night. I take a deep breath and not too long later, both Gabriel and Aaron return with Arthur alongside them. They all give me dumbfounded faces once they see the tension in the room has risen.
"What's going on?" Aaron asks, politely questioning Grayson's tense shoulders. Grayson glares up at Aaron, appearing more than frustrated.
"Well, I'm a little confused. That's all." Grayson raises his voice, throwing everyone off. Lyra straightens her torso, becoming panicky. Grayson stares at her before dropping his shoulders and slumping his head into his arms. Aaron stands confused, looking over Grayson as if he is guilty. I sigh, then Grayson speaks into the table.
"I just want to know what happened. Can someone explain it to me?" His tone changes, becoming gentle as he stares at the wood of the table. Gabriel takes a thorough breath, suggesting that he will explain.
"Apparently, Tahain was upset with Arthur so he hunted him down to torture and kill him. Which lead to Tahain killing my older brother." The human explains his point of view, painting me as the bad guy. I don't think anyone will listen to my side if that view is put out there. Gabriel glares at me, preparing to continue. "Also, my little brother lost his fucking mind and ran away because of Tahain." He furiously says the last statement, stressing the muscles in his face as he speaks. I clench my teeth, holding back from a strong wave of heat rolling down from my face. A moment of silence goes by before Grayson slowly sits up to glare at me. He stands up, looking into my eyes.
