thirteen; CLARITY ATTEMPTHer face was screwed up tightly and her eyes watered as she clutched her knee closer to her body and she stared at the beads of blood that had appeared as her lip began to wobble.
"Daddy!" She cried loudly and the man in question glanced up from what he was looking at and froze at the sight of his child crouched on the floor holding onto her knee with tearful eyes.
He quickly stood up and made his way over to the toddler sitting on the carpet behind the couch.
"What happened?" He asked gently as he crouched in front of her to inspect the graze.
"I hurted my knee." She sniffled sadly.
"You hurt your knee." Sirius corrected her with a gentle smile, "And I see that but how did you hurt your knee?"
"Manix scratched me." She grumbled gloomily, "And I wasn't hurting him. I patted him just like you taught me to."
Sirius glanced over at the kitten wandering around the kitchen and scowled.
"Damn cat." He murmured as he grabbed one of his clean shirts off the back of the couch and wiped away the tiny drops of blood that had formed over the graze.
"Damn cat." Ezra echoed with a giggle causing the man to wince.
"Don't repeat that around your mother." He warned, "She'll yell at me."
"Okay, Daddy." She replied as she looked down at her knee, "Can you kiss it better like Mummy does?"
Sirius paused in mock thought.
"I don't see why not." He replied as he kissed her knee, causing the three-year-old to giggle happily, her tears now long forgotten.
"Thank you very very much." She exclaimed as she got to her feet and wrapped her arms around the young man's neck, "I love you, Daddy."
"I love you too, my little star." He murmured as he returned her embrace.
Going home for Christmas was something that Ezra Sutton was always excited about, but this time, she wasn't going home to a happy reunion, this would be the absolute opposite of that because she was absolutely furious with her family for hiding the truth about her father.
She wasn't sure whether or not Steven knew about it as he and her mother met when she was only five, but she knew for certain that Will and Liz knew the truth because they were nine when she was born and they had just turned twelve and were at Hogwarts around the time Natalia Sutton had told her daughter that her father was with the angels.
The brunette stared out the window of the moving train, her legs tucked beneath her chin as her arms held onto them so tightly as though her entire body would crumble if she were to allow herself to move from her position.
