"What in Merlin's name is going on in here?!"
Those were the words Natalia exclaimed as she entered the kitchen and took a look at the state of it with pots and pans and food spilled everywhere with Sirius and their daughter smack in the middle of it, their laughter dying when they saw her standing in the doorway, though the happiness never left each of their faces.
"We made pancakes, Mummy," Ezra exclaimed as she gestured towards the two plates that sat atop the messy bench, "The muggle way!"
"Yeah, we made pancakes, Mummy." Sirius echoed with a smirk when he watched Natalia begin to smile.
"I hope you know that you'll be cleaning this mess up," Natalia warned as she gestured to the flour, milk, and cracked eggs that covered the benchtop, as well as the floor, along with the dirty bowls and measuring cups that littered the sink.
"I know," Sirius replied as he took a bite out of his pancake.
"Daddy let me have the spoon when we finished using it." The toddler giggled as she poured some sprinkles onto her own stack.
"Not too much, love," Natalia said as she took the jar from her daughter when she thought that there was enough on the pancake, "You don't want to spoil your supper."
Ezra nodded firmly.
"Do you wanna share?" She asked after a moment.
"We figured that you'd have gone to the party straight from work," Sirius commented, causing the woman to raise her eyebrow in amusement.
"Clearly." She replied with a small laugh when her eyes roamed the mess that only Sirius and their daughter would be able to make.
"We only made enough for both of us." Ezra said quietly, looking extremely guilty when she realised they hadn't made enough, "Sorry, Mummy."
"That's okay, sweetheart." Natalia said as she gazed down at her, "Maybe you can make me some when I get home tomorrow."
Her daughter grinned, her eyes glinting happily at the idea.
"Okay!" She exclaimed happily.
"So, why didn't you?" Sirius asked, "Go straight to the party, I mean."
"I didn't want to show up in my uniform so I just came to get a change of clothes," Natalia answered, gestured to the navy dress she had put on prior to her discovery of her kitchen in chaos.
"You look really pretty," Ezra spoke through a mouthful of her pancakes.
"Don't speak with your mouth full." Her parents spoke in sync causing their daughter to grin sheepishly after she swallowed her food and repeated herself.
