"What's up with you?"

Sutton, who had been fuming on a window ledge on the second floor, glanced to her left to see Fred Weasley staring up at her in concern.

"We're not playing you in the first match of the season." She exclaimed angrily.

"Yeah." He replied, looking quite annoyed himself, "Wood just told us."

"Merlin, I could just about kill Malfoy right now," Sutton yelled as she ran her hand through the tangled tresses of her dark hair.

"I figured that you'd be gloating." He commented after watching her in mild confusion while she scoffed angrily.

"Gloating? I'm pissed off." She responded angrily, "Scouts come to the first games and I'm not going to be playing."

Fred moved closer the windowsill that she was sitting on and heaved himself up onto it and faced her once he steadied himself.

"You want to play at a professional level?" He asked curiously.

Sutton nodded, removing her gaze from the Gryffindor to glance out the window at the students enjoying their weekends.

"It's been my dream since I was six and my Mum took me to see my Uncle Liam's last game of the season. It was Hogwarts League, Ravenclaw and Gryffindor, but I was completely hooked all the same. I asked my Mum for a broomstick the next day and Liam taught me the basics of it all the Summer before his third year." She told him with a smile.

"I honestly figured that you'd want to be an Auror or an Unspeakable for something." He said honestly, fighting back a grin that was threatening to break across his face.

"Definitely not." She replied with a quiet peal of laughter, "I'm barely scraping a pass in Defence and I honestly don't think I'd be able to keep the mysteries of the Department of Mysteries a, well, mystery. What do you want to do?"

"I want to open a joke shop with George." He told her, "All we've ever wanted to do is make people laugh, but my Mum despises the idea."

"It's not her life." Sutton responded, "If owning a joke shop is what you're passionate about then you go for it. It doesn't matter what anyone says about it, including your parents. It's your life to live and if you're miserable in some crappy job that your mother actually approves of, then that life isn't really worth living now is it?"

"Yeah, I guess so." He answered, "You know, you're pretty alright, Sutton."

"Honestly, you're pretty alright as well, Weasley." She said with a gentle smile, before she snorted, remembering what had taken place before her blow up, "Did you know that Flint is planning on telling everyone who asks that he's not back to finish his classes but to play Quidditch and that it's so easy to tell every professor that he's back to take another class."
