Dead or alive

*bam*

Pain. Overwhelming pain coursed it way through my chest like water flows through a river. I fell backwards, and landed with a hard crash.

People shouted my name, and called for help. I felt someone grab my hand.

"Thomas!! Stay with me buddy, you're gonna be fine." The broken voice of my best friend flooded my ears. He said something else, but I couldn't make it out, just white noise to the pain I was feeling.

Stop, I thought. Focus on Minho, not the pain. I stared into my friend's forlorn face, covered in dirt and blood. His face changed to become a blurry mess of color.

"We're losing him!!" Someone shouted. I couldn't tell who.

"Thomas, please.. I can't lose you too. Please stay..."

I looked up at Minho, the man that had become my best friend, like a brother to me, one last time.

"Goodbye." I said, and close my eyes.

A bright light emerged from where Minho's face was. It engulfed me entirely, sending me flying through time and space. I couldn't tell up from down or right from left.

Finally my feet touched solid ground. The bright light faded, and showed I was in the woods somewhere. The pain in my chest had subsided, and was now completely gone.

I looked around for a moment, trying to find out where I was.

"Bloody hell Tommy, what took you so long? I expected you here ages ago."

I turned. It was him. Newt. My best friend.

The boy I killed.

Wait. The boy I killed.

If that means that he's dead then,

"Am I dead?" I asked, looking at him. He gave a warm smile. "Heh, now you're finally coming around." He looked at me with happy eyes. Then they changed. He cocked his and his smile turned kinder.

"Well, where's my hug? It's been a while, so you owe me eh?".

I ran forward and threw myself into his arms. I knew I was dead, but at the moment I didn't care. I was with him again, and that's all that mattered.
