Chapter 16: Crash!

Later on in the morning, Dave had called us giving the next stop we were to arrive at.

We started packing our stuff and loading it in the car.

"You think Dave is going to try and make it hard for us?" I asked Grant.

"Its possible" he said.

"Dave is the spitting-image of Shaun, just way worst, he probably will" Jared said.

"He must be crazy sending us to Canada especially around this time" he said.

"Canada is very cold around this time and we only packed jackets, no gloves, no hat, scarf nothing man" Nathan added.

They all started laughing....

When we had everything loaded we made our way to the airport.

As we borded the plane, I had sat next to Nathan, Dad had sat with Jared and Grant with Austin, which shocked the heck out of me.

We finally started to pull off.

About 20 mintues into the flight Nathan had asked "You know Alex, I cant help but ask, how can you and Austin be calm about going through something like this for what, the third time now"

"I don't know, I guess we know that if we were to keep panicking we wouldnt suceed in stopping them"

"I see...its just you've been through a lot, I mean, from you being kidnapped first, then getting yourself kidnapped again to stop the same person and now your daughter...I'm just saying me personally, I would be a reck" he said.

"Well I never said I wasnt hurting, but in some ways I think we are mostly strong because we know that they wont win..you know"

"Yeah, and thats a good attitude to have" he said as he smiled at me.

-Austin POV-

When I looked up at Alex, I saw her smiling and she hasnt had a real smile in a long time.

"I havent seen that either" Grant said.

"What?"

"Her smile like that, I havent seen it in a long time either" he said.

I didnt say anything as I looked out the window.

"You know, I know you dont like me and all, so you dont have to pretend you do" he said.

I ignored him still looking out the window.

He sighed as he said "Look, I know you love her and she loves you too. Yea I may have feelings for her too, but I know my boundaries...look man, I would never come between you and her ever, she will and can never give me the look she gives you. I'm not going to lecture you or nothing but I will say this...what you said about her mom was wrong. I understand your hurting and going through a lot because Dave has your daughter, but your the man of the house... so you know how to keep it together, but Alex...nah, she cant do that, shes a woman and woman tend to hurt and feel way worst than a male does when something they feel they should have been able to stop happens. She's hurting and the arguments yall have are only making it worst on her. You can choose to keep ignoring me if you want, but you know I'm right"

When he finally stopped talking, I understood what he saying, and even though I hate the fact that hes right, I cant not thank him for telling me anyway.

"Thanks" I stuck my hand out.

"No problem" he said as he shook my hand.

It was kind of awkward sitting next to Alex dad, mainly because we have nothing to talk about until...

"So whats your story?" he asked.
