The mindspace was dark and quiet as everyone slept, not even Virgil was awake as the clock hit 1am for once.
A figure padded down a rarely used corridor and came to a stop at a large window with a sill big enough for a person to sit on.
A small sigh left the figure as they sat down, staring out the window solemnly as their mind ran over everything.
A ray of moonlight glinted off of what appeared to be scales and the figures face was illuminated enough to be recognised as Deciet.
Deciet was lacking his usual smirk however, in fact he seemed quite down in the dumps.
He was quite upset at how everything had been going recently, Thomas had found out he existed and was now actively working to completely negate him and his job.
Deciet had known his little disguise as Patton wasn't quite up to scratch but he'd had to seize the chance when it arrived and it would have been perfect if he'd just had a little more time to observe more of Pattons mannerisms.
He'd felt a little hurt at the complete rejection he'd received from all of the others but he recognised that he didn't have the best history with any of them.
Roman was hard to predict as some times he'd completely be swayed by Deciets words and other times he'd just tell him to piss off.
Logan hated him because he liked to try and make Thomas ignore certain information and all information, positive and negative, was important to Logan.
Patton was quite passive aggressive towards him and liked to completely ignore him if he entered the room, making comments out loud about how he could have sworn he smelt something foul or something like that.
Then of course Virgil.
Deciet put his head in his hands as he remembered how well they used to get on. Virgil had become the most aggressive towards him by far.
Maybe it had something to do with how Deciet used to whisper to him at night about all sorts of things that Thomas was incapable of doing, resulting in him relaying that to the group and getting shouted at for being negative.
Or it could have something to do with how Deciet used to point out that Virgil was a 'dark side' as Roman classed them and the other traits would never accept him as a valued part of Thomas's personality.
Deciet had honestly believed those things but everything had changed so quickly he never saw Virgils acceptance coming.
A small scowl crossed his face as he thought of how Thomas had taken one look at him and freaked out. Sure he was pretending to be Patton and Thomas hadn't known anything about him but that was still no excuse to immediately judge him.
It was that exact behaviour that caused so many of Virgils panic attacks and sleepless nights before they'd accepted him. It seemed like Thomas hadn't learnt from his past mistakes.
That was fine with Deciet, if he was going to be treated as the bad guy then he'd just show them what life was like without him.
He'd retreat further into the depths of the mindspace and watch as Thomas slowly started to feel the consequences of 100% honesty.
Deciet stood up and straightened out his clothes before storming down the corridor towards a door that lead to the darker less active parts of the mindspace.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Thomas woke up feeling a little strange but quickly brushed it off as he got ready for the day.
He was preparing to leave to meet Joan and Talyn at a cafe for breakfast. He was a little nervous about it because it was the same cafe where he'd bumped into one of the servers and ran out without ordering anything due to embarrassment.
