The Ride Home

I woke up from the continues ringing of my phone, I reached for it on the bedside table not minding what time is it.

"Yes, hello?" I yawned and stretched.

"Good morning, pumpkin...." he said over the line, voice's husky. "Time to get up now, breakfast is ready. Then we're going home."

"Alright, Cha. I'll be downstairs in five..."

"Hmkay, see you in a few,"

"Too clingy," I jokingly said, he laughed.

"I'm sorry. Okay, bye now..."

"Bye,"

I checked the time and stood up, 4:30 palang ng umaga. I went straight in the closet to prepare my clothes and to the bathroom to wash my face and gurgle. I then went downstairs after. A few walks, I saw Charles sitting on the sofa using his phone.

Tumikhim ako para mahuli yung atensyon niya, tinignan niya ako.

"Good morning," I said as I walk towards him, he smiled too.

"Good morning," he stood up, "Kain na tayo?"

Tumango ako, tapos sumunod ako sakanya sa dinning. Halos magningning naman yung mga mata ko sa mga nakahain doon.

From all the breakfast foods to drinks, name it all, and you have it.

Charles pulled a chair for me, I sat down and he did too after. We silently ate our breakfast, I was in the middle of eating when I noticed Charles' car keys on the table.

"You're bringing your car?" I wiped my mouth as I looked at him.

"Yeah,"

"The sports car, Cha?"

"No, the Ranger..." he answered and continue eating.

I looked at him. Really? What else are the things I don't know about him?

"How many cars do you have?"

Binaba niya yung tinidor na hawak niya, "I've got two. The sports car and the one we're bringing..."

Tumango ako sakanya tapos nagpatuloy nalang kumain. Pagkatapos, dumeretso na ako ng kwarto para maligo. An hour after, bumaba na din ako bitbit yung gamit ko. Andoon ulit si Charles sa living room, doing the same thing.

"Let's go?" he looked at me and smiled, he nodded.

Sabay kaming nagpaalam kay Nanay Leonora. Pinalalahan niya kaming magiingat tska bumalik sa mansyon ng madalas. Hinatid niya din kami sa may pinto.

Charles opened the car door for me, "Bye, Nay!" I shouted as I enter.

Nay Nora smiled at me, "Sige, anak! Magiingat ha?"

"Opo, Nay..." Charles said before closing my door.

He went in and looked over to me, "Seatbelts?"

"Locked,"

"Alright, let's go...."

The whole drive was quite long. Were still on the way, sabi ni Charles, matulog daw muna ako kasi malayo pa naman kaso hindi talaga ako inaantok. Then, an idea popped in my head.

"Maglaro nalang tayo!" I cheerfully said.

He looked at me, "Anong laro naman?"

"Ask questions until we run out of it!"

A small smile escape on his lips, "Parang getting to know?"

"Yup," I popped the letter p, "You start... but you can ask one personal question, that's the rule..."
