“Produce fruit in keeping with repentance.”

Matthew 3:8

*************************

You committed sin and behaved badly. You lied and cheated your love ones. You confessed the agonizing truth of your betrayal so you can unload the pain of your guilty conscience. You regard your sins as understandable mistakes rather than a selfish and careless choice. And when you are forgiven, you are back in your old habit again. Sometimes you confess and promise too much. You admit your sins and you show your remorse, but prove nothing. You are not sincere in making self amendments so you will behave better.

Repentance needs not to be obvious or showy. It doesn't necessitate conditions or audiences. Repentance should be done with sincerity and determination. It is done with the willingness to take your accountability for your inadequacies and shortcomings. You can make atonement in silence, speak with Him directly and change for the better forever.
