   The library was a bit of a walk from Ms. Crenshaw's. As Elena bantered on about her day and other things I didn't care about, I continued zoning out. We kept walking down, a few students here and there in the hall. We eventually made it to the library. Elena lead me past the distracted librarian and we sat down at a wooden table. It was a pretty small library compared to other schools. The shelves had a lot of empty space and the sad number of books that were actually there looked thin and old.

"Mrs. Paceley gave up on the library a long time ago. She's always pissed off over something. Try to stay away from her the best you can," Elena said as she pulled out what I assumed to be her math homework. I glanced back to get a better look at the librarian when I felt a strong tug on my arm. I quickly turned to see Elena, her dark eyes wide with emotion. "Don't look now, but Wesley Hartmann and his group at sitting over at the table in the corner. He's staring right at us!" My heart raced quickly at the mention of his name. I started to get nervous and excited at the same time. I looked up immediately only to find his unwavering gaze staring right back. My breath caught in my throat. His eyes widened slightly when he noticed me looking back. He was about to say something when a girl with blonde hair tugged on his arm abruptly to get his attention. I looked back at Elena who was crossing her arms and smirking.

"He likes you, Flora. A lot," she spoke knowingly. I shrugged. "So?" I retorted.

"So do you like him too?"

"No."

Elena raised one dark brow. "Well it sure looks like you do. I wouldn't get too close to him though, if I were you." I looked back at Wes. Again, his piercing eyes stared directly at me. My
