"Is another living room and the bathroom," Elena said. "Come on, I'll show you my room," she cheerily said, leading me up the left staircase, but not before mentioning I take my shoes off near the front door.
The hallways upstairs were more narrow than I thought. Elena's room was at the end of the hall. It surprisingly wasn't anything fancy. Just a desk and a queen-sized bed and an extension to her own bathroom. The walls were painted lavender, so the room had a calming feeling to it.
"You're house is really cool," I murmured as I took in the simplistic, yet calming room. Elena smiled. "I guess. It's not as nice as my home in Spain, though." Before I could ask her more, Elena interrupted me with an excited interjection. "Oh! I forgot to show you the most important room! The balcony!" I rolled my eyes playfully as we went quickly down the carpeted hallway.
The door was on the exact opposite end of the hall. "Huh, I think my brother's out there. I can introduce you guys," Elena said smiling at me before opened the glass door.
Warm air met my skin as the atmosphere changed strangely around us. My chest tightening in slight anticipation as I walked behind Elena on the spacious deck.
"Javier, this is Flora," Elena said, unknowing of how those four words had just affected me so heavily, I could hardly breathe. It couldn't be.
But when his back turned from watching the view to me, there was no mistaking it. I tried to calm the adrenaline rush surging electricity through my veins, the sudden fear and anxiety prickling across my skin. He was here, and he was Elena's brother.
