expressions, especially towards Wes. He didn't seem to care. I even noticed Elena look at me, surprised and amused.

The lunch line was almost empty. Parker grinned when he saw us, the smile directed towards me.Wesley gripped my arm tighter, hurting me a little bit. "Wes," I said quietly. He looked down and his cobalt eyes widened a bit when he noticed my constricted arm. He immediately dropped it. "S-sorry, Flora," he said, guilty. HIs reaction seemed a bit odd, like he was overreacting. When I looked up, five girls were looking at me sympathetically. I didn't see what the big deal was. One quick icy look from Wes made each one of them turn around quickly. Wes grabbed a bottle of water tensely. "You're not hungry?" I asked. He turned to look at me, his expression completely unreadable. "Which bus do you go on?" He asked, ignoring my question. His voice sounded slightly harsh. I tried to ignore it, though it made me kind of nervous. "Bus one," I said back, looking down at my sneakers. "I'm bus two, so you must live nearby," he thought out loud. I was beyond confused. "What're you implying?" I questioned.

Wes paused for a second, as if thinking of the right to say. "Well, um. Since you're new here. I just thought that we could, you know, study together." Before I could react, Parker peaked his head out from further in front of the line. "Lies! Wesley Hartmann doesn't study. Never has and never will." Wes turned red. "Yes or no, Flora?" He said gruffly, but I could see him tense up. He seemed like he was eagerly waiting for my answer. I shrugged as we continued moving further up the line. "I don't think I'd be allowed to go to your house, Wes. My parents aren't exactly easy-going when it comes to this stuff." Wes thought for a few seconds. "We'll talk about it later," He declared before reaching for a hamburger.
