using every second to watch me. And I was spending every second thinking about him, when all I should be thinking of is the lesson going on.

Taylor and Clara didn't pass an opportunity to nudge me and point in his direction subtly. I smiled softly and tried not to look embarrassed.

Class was interrupted harshly when a loud, blaring noise echoed obnoxiously from the hallway. "Fire drill," Ms. Moran said after a her slight shock faded away. It was obvious this was a planned drill by the groan that followed after.

Everyone got up and exited the room. Wes stood right beside me. "We stand outside school for a couple minutes and then go inside. And we have to do this every month as a drill," he said.

"Really? I've never been through a fire drill before," I said teasingly. He laughed quietly as we walked down the crowded halls.

"Where are you going?" Wes said quickly. "I just need to go to the bathroom. I'll meet you outside."

Wes ran a hand through his short hair almost frustratingly. "Do you want me to wait for you? I think I should wait..."

I forced a small laugh. "I'll be fine Wes, it's just a drill." He didn't smile as he reluctantly walked away, going towards who I could make out to be Parker. "I'll see you, Flora."
