I wanted to ask so many things. I had so many questions, but I could only ask one. "What if I do come?"
Javier ran a hand quickly through his short hair. "Guess we'll have to see," he said. "I would never betray Wes," I added, and it somehow felt as if I was supposed to say that. But it was true. Javier was nothing but an infatuation. What Wes and I had was strong, unbreakable. One guy wasn't about to ruin all of that.
"Just leave," he muttered, his voice almost dangerous. I left his room quickly, somehow feeling both sad and excited at once. And it was a strange, execrable combination.
When I went to Elena's room she was on her bed, flat on her stomach. "So what did Javier want?" she asked. I sighed and sat on her bed. "Nothing important."
Elena winked and nodded. "Of course. So did I tell you what happened with Monica and Jared?" I shook my head as she began talking.
I half-listened as I tried to calm myself. I needed time to collect my thoughts, to be alone. And although I'd hate to admit it, I kind of wanted to just go home.
