Chapter 10
We pulled into a small gravel road. Around us, the wolves of the Blue Moon pack seemed to relax. I assumed we were near the pack house or something, but it wasn't until we reached a large contemporary house that I assumed wrong.
It had 2 stories; large wide windows placed all over with giant white rectangular arches all around. It seemed to be built from white concrete and giant oak wood. Though it looked modern, I couldn't help but gape at how well blended it seemed to go with the surrounding trees. Modern with nature, I loved it.
We pulled up into the wide cobblestone drive way and parked the car quickly. Brian whistled as he looked at the house, "It's nice."
"It's beautiful." Aishling murmured, admiring how spacious it looked, "How many bedrooms do you think are there? How many closets?
"I think enough for all your clothes." I casted a quick glance outside as a few of our guys started unloading the other vehicles.
"I only brought the necessary." Aishling huffed. She climbed out of the car and looked around for a second.
I stepped down in time to see Chris shift back near the woods. He looked up and looked between me and Aishling. I adverted my gaze and instead went to go help with the unloading.
"Where's Alpha Elliot?" Aishling called out.
Chris came closer wearing the same basketball pants. He answered yet kept glancing over at me, "He's out at the moment. He'll be back soon."
"He won't even come to see his fiancé arrive?" Carter sneered. He dropped a suitcase loudly and turned to face Chris.
I suddenly felt a need to stop him from getting too close to Chris. I didn't want a fight to break out and knowing Carter, he would love nothing more, especially someone of his equal.
Brian stepped inbetween them. Casting Carter a warning look, he pushed him back. "Finish unloading."
Carter glared at Brian. "Only for this trip." He growled.
I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding. Grabbing my bag out of the back car, I hauled it over my shoulder and grabbed the other two duffels.
"I'll show you all to your rooms." Chris suddenly spoke out when he noticed me waiting with my luggage.
Aishling beamed, "My stuff will have to finish unloading, but if you show Cora where my room is, she'll get the others to move it all in."
Brian soon started tugging out my duffel from my hold. "I'll take your stuff to your room, and you can just show me."
Chris looked weary for a second. His eyes darted and I suddenly understood he wanted to talk to me alone.
Jumping away from Brian, I smiled meekly. "I'll do it myself."
He looked as if he was ready to argue, but I quickly shut him up by entering his head.
"I want to talk to him. Alone."
"You don't know what he'll do to you." Brian warned.
"I'm technically his Alpha's mate, he won't do anything."
"So you accept him as your mate?" Brian suddenly snarled causing my wolf to feel threatened. I felt her ready to erupt out of me. She didn't like how he used that tone, as if her mate was inferior.
I spoke slowly through gritted teeth - well mentally, "No, I just need to talk to him and I'm guessing he needs to talk to me too. Calm down Brian, I've been training for years in combat, I know how to take care of myself."
