Chapter 11
For a moment, it seemed like we were the only two people in the area. The surrounding turned fuzzy as all my attention focused in on him. And I knew for a fact that it was the same for him too.
My mouth turned dry and my entire body rigid. I didn't know what to do at this moment, should I just stand here? Or should I run away? Or should I move closer to him? I was conflicted, and my wolf's constant yapping barely helped.
Though my wolf was urging- begging me to go over to him, another side of me wanted to run as far away from him as I could. I didn't know which side of me I should have listened to.
There was an inner battle raging in me, I tried forcing my wolf to listen to me, but she wouldn't have it. She was all over threatening to shift any second.
My shoulders quivered as my eyes examined him. He was wearing a pair of dark jeans with no shirt. I gulped taking in his muscle. He was chiseled and just rippling with muscle - for some reason that scared me a bit. Moving up, I bit the corner of my lip when I noticed thick bandage wrapped around his torso and a few on his arms.
What had happened to him?
Did something attack him?
My wolf snarled and prowled deep inside me. Her anger and curiosity burned my stomach.
My gaze quickly moved up from his body to his face. His eyes were narrowed and dark as he focused on me. His hair was disheveled and looked like he had just come back from a long run.
"Cora!" Ashley suddenly called to me. My attention snapped away from Elliot as Ashley quickly clung onto my arms. She seemed oblivious of the weird connection the Alpha and I just had.
She smiled, "He's so handsome. Oh! Look! Aishling's going up to greet him!"
Snapping my head over, it appeared so. Aishling walked over to him timidly. She kept glancing from her feet to him as she blushed darkly. My wolf growled so loudly in my head that I couldn't hear what Aishling was saying to Elliot.
Elliot's attention seemed to shift constantly from me and Aishling. Suddenly I felt like I was being smothered by his gaze.
"I'm going to go over to Brian." I muttered, pulling out of Ashley's hold. She didn't respond, and it wasn't even a full second before I had gotten away from her that she latched onto another girl. Their fierce whisperings could be heard even after I shimmied myself over to Brian.
His face was stoic, and his orange eyes flared every once in a while. "So...They finally meet."
"Yeah, I guess." I awkwardly kicked a patch of grass in front. I kept my eyes concentrated on the patch scared of what my wolf would do if Elliot looked at me again.
"Are you sure you can handle a month?"
I shrugged, "I can handle a month, I don't know about my wolf."
Brian merely grunted before he straightened himself up with a deep sigh. Soon his shoulders bumped into mine. "I'm not going to do anything while we're here. You have to clear this up all on your own."
"I know. B-Brian, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to stress you out or anything with my situation. I mean - I know you already have a lot to worry about like with Aishling and I'm just making it worse with my stuff." I hastily apologized.
Brian flashed me a small smile, "I'm not stressed out about Aishling. Honestly, you're 500 times more trouble than she can ever be." I flinched, "I just want you to figure out what you want for yourself on your own. I'm still going to beat that guy's ass if he does anything stupid on you, but you'll have to decide if you think you'll be able to handle the connection between you two."
