The Date

A/N: Hey it looks like this chapter isn't late... yay!

"Hey! You guys ready!" Ninten shouted as he burst into my room. Ninten's arrival startled me and Lucas as we had both fallen asleep, leaning on each other's shoulders.
"Huh... Ninten?" I yawned as I tiredly rubbed my eyes "I thought you said that you would only be a couple of minutes!"
Ninten laughed to himself as Lucas shuffled away from me slightly.
"Yeah,Yeah I know, But we're done now!" Ninten explained excitedly.

Ninten quickly grabbed my arm and pulled me up from the bed and dragged me to the doorway. "Come on Ness! You were being impatient earlier!" Ninten complained. I reached to grab Lucas' hand to bring him along.

Ninten pulled us out into the hallway. I managed to catch a glimpse of Tracy peeking out from her room with a grin on her face.

Before I knew it, the three of us were downstairs. Mom was wearing red high heeled shoes and she was holding some type of clutch purse.
"Oh Ness I have to tell you, I'll be going out in a moment. I won't be long. I promise." She smiled "and before I forget... Lucas, you're in charge."
"Huh!? W-what me!" Lucas gasped.
"Yes, at the moment you're the most sensible here." Mom complimented. Lucas smiled timidly in response.
"What! But I'm usually in charge!" I complained
"I know, but right now, Lucas is the best behaved out of all of you so stop with you're whining." Mom explained.

Mom was probably right. I couldn't really be trusted with anything and there was no way that she was letting Ninten be in charge.

"Have fun with your date!" Mom chimed as she put on her coat. After that she left, leaving the four of us alone together.

"Wait here a sec." Ninten said before quickly running up the stairs. I noticed a small tub of strawberries sitting in the kitchen counter and a light blue blanket neatly folded next to it. I turned to Lucas, who was giving me a sweet smile.
"Everything will be fine." I reassured as I took hold Lucas' hands.
"I know... you're the one who seems worried." Lucas pointed out.
"Me? Worried? No way... Lucas Its okay to be nervous-"
"Ness, I'm not nervous." Lucas added quietly.
"That's the spirit! Everything will be fine." I repeated.

Okay, Lucas was right. I was worried and nervous about all of this. I just didn't want Lucas to worry about me. It is just a date after all. This was a first for both of us since I hadn't been on a date before either but I think that I gave Lucas the impression that I knew what I was doing. I began to panic as I heard Ninten's heavy footsteps run down the stairs.

Lucas gently loosened his grip of my hands. He could tell that I was nervous.
"You okay?" He asked sweetly
"Y-yeah." I stammered, not sounding very convincing

Ninten came marching down the stairs happily.
"You guys ready?" He smiled.
"Yeah!" Lucas replied
"I mean we've been ready for a while." I added.
"You weren't waiting that long! Now turn around!" Ninten ordered with a grin on his face.
"Why?" I asked
"I can't tell you that it will ruin it!" He cried out.

Lucas and I did what Ninten said and turned our backs to Ninten and so that we were facing the front door. Ninten quickly shuffled in front of us and opened the front door, letting in a cold breeze. Before I could even say anything, Ninten put his hand to my back.
"Hope you two have a good time." Ninten grinned.
"Wait! Ninten!-" I cried out before being violently pushed out of the house and even tripping even  a bit. Ninten pushed Lucas into my arms before shutting the door on us.

All of a sudden, I heard a clicking sound. Ninten had locked us out. I looked to Lucas, who looked even more furious than I was. He angrily approached the door and tried pulling at the handle.
"Ninten! Listen up! You better let us back in!" Lucas began to shout. His shouting made me jump.
