Thoughts throughout the evening

"Are you crazy!? It's only been an hour since we-"Lucas exclaimed. I put my hands on his face , slowly bringing it closer . His cheeks were warm and his deep blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight that flooded through the window, even though they were still looking at Ninten in confusion.

I kissed him.

His lips felt soft and tender as they touched mine . Suddenly, his eyes darted to me in shock.
"Wow, I didn't think you were actually going to do it . I would have accepted a kiss on the cheek you know." Ninten explained as I gently pulled away.
"Y-yeah ... me n-neither ." Lucas stuttered.
"You sure are the charmer Ness, he's speechless." Ninten laughed .

Ninten took a glance at the clock that sat on the windowsill in front of us . "Well, it's about time I get going . Don't want to miss my meeting with Ana." He said as he got up from the couch.
"No please don't go ." I begged
"It's not my fault you made things awkward."
"B-but ... could you at least tell us what time you'll be round for training."
"I'll be round at half ten in the morning." Ninten arranged as he swung open the door and left .

It was awkwardly silent as I leaned over and held my head in my hands and let out a long depressed sigh .
"How...How can I turn every conversation into an awkward mess?"I asked out loud. "I've embarrassed you haven't I ? And you probably didn't even like it ."
"Who said I didn't like it?" Lucas added . I turned to him and gave him a surprised look . "What's That Look supposed to mean." He giggled as he leant forward next to me .
"So its a thing ? You and I ."
"Yeah... why not ."
"This is gonna be the only thing Ninten's gonna be talking about for the next week ... it gonna spread like wildfire." I explained
"Isn't that a good thing ? The more people who know the more people who will be able to help."
"Nah, it'll be to much of a hassle, especially if we can handle it ourselves." I replied .

"I think the training thing is a good idea."I added
"Yeah , I mean if corse I want to get stronger."Lucas smiled enthusiastically . His expression was so uplifting and full of happiness and confidence. It was so nice to see him like this . "But it feels like Ninten's underestimating me ."
"That's why you have to prove him wrong." I encouraged
"I still think he'll be a good teacher." Lucas complimented. I gave him a warm smile in response.
"You gotta be prepared though , he's not going to go easy on you ."
"But I'm not going to go down with out a fight."
"I'll definitely be cheering you on ."I reassured
"Even if I lose ?"
"No matter what happens, I'll still be proud of you ." I said as I put my arm around Lucas's shoulder .
"It's nice to finally hear that ." He sighed in a sad tone "and I'm glad you're the one saying it." After hearing this I gave Lucas a warm , welcoming smile.

Without warning, Lucas leaned in and kissed me on the cheek.
"Oh come here ya big dork ... if you're gonna kiss me at least do it properly ."I joked as I gently brought Lucas' face closer to mine and went in for another kiss on the lips . I slowly took my hands of off Lucas' blushing cheeks and grasped his waist .

"How can you be so perfect."I complimented
"Y-you think I'm perfect?" Lucas repeated, his voice stating to waver as he did.
"Yeah ! I mean throughout my adventure I've never met some one as kind as you ." Lucas sighed as he lay down and rested his head on my knees .
"Kindness won't get you very far ... trust me I know." Lucas said quietly as he turned his head to the side.
"Why what happened?"
"Once you're known for being kind that's all you can be. You can't get angry at everything that's happening...you can't object to it . All you can do is cry."
"It's okay to cry, everyone has cried at least once ." I reassured.
"I guess so ." Lucas whispered as he looked at me with an emotionless expression.

"Come on , what's gotten you to be all sad ?" I asked , trying to sound upbeat.
"Just thinking about home I guess." Lucas replied. My mind went into a small panic that Lucas wanted to go home already but I didn't want to him leave so soon . I didn't want him to go .
"Well maybe we can visit." I suggested
"That's only if it hasn't been completely destroyed." Lucas sadly added " And even if it's not , everyone would be so worried about me ."
"What can I do to stop you from being all depressed?" I asked.
"Sorry Ness , once I'm in this mood it takes a while to get out of it ." Lucas sighed as he started to fiddle with his fingers that rested on his stomach.
