Oh The Dramatic Irony

A few minutes later, Mom arrived home.
"I thought you said that you weren't gonna be long!" Tracy complained.
"I know, I know. I'm sorry." Mom apologized "But anyway, how did the date go?"
"Terrible! Ness wasn't being romantic!" Tracy cried out.
"I was trying!" I added
"You two did kiss so... you weren't completely hopeless." Tracy sighed
"So then it was a successful date!" Ninten interrupted. Mom laughed a little.
"I'm so glad well that it went well!" Mom smiled
"Yeah... I guess so." I sighed.

It was about three in the afternoon and I could tell that Ninten was eager to get home.

"You know, Ana was pretty worried about you." I explained to Ninten.
"Worried! O-oh I-I mean... I-I knew she would be." he stuttered. Lucas laughed a little to himself. "I bet she can't wait to see me."
I rolled my eyes before standing up from the couch.
"Alright then, how about we get going now." I suggested.
"I guess heading home in the daylight is a lot safer." Ninten said as he stood up as well.
"Where exactly have we got to go?" Lucas asked, looking up to us.
"We gotta go to Podunk... Unfortunately, that's pretty far away." Ninten explained.
"How far exactly?" Lucas asked again.
"Why do you always have to ask that?" I laughed.
"Lets just say it's far, okay." Ninten answered.

"Hey Mom! We're just going out to drop Ninten home, don't worry, we'll be back before dinner." I explained happily. We were already to go and Ninten seemed rather eager to get home.
"Okay, see you two later." Mom smiled before we left the house.

It was kind of cold outside but not that much to need a coat. The weather was actually rather nice. It was calming and I liked it.

Ninten confidently marched in front, Lucas in the middle and I was at the back so that I could keep an eye on him. I didn't want to lose him like last time.

As we walked down the hill, Ninten brought up the topic of Psi.
"So Ness has told you about me and Psi eh?" He smiled
"O-oh yeah he has... I-I don't really get this Psi thing so uh.., c-could you explain it, please." Lucas stuttered. Ninten laughed a little.
"Sure, I mean, Ness has told you that part of my family are the founders of Psi right?" Ninten replied as we continued to walk. Lucas nodded.
"Can you tell if someone has Psi or not?" Lucas asked quietly.
"Yeah! It may be more obvious with some people but luckily Ness and I know all of the Psi users... and by that you can tell that there's not very many." Ninten explained.
"Wait! So does that mean that people want to use you and your powers!?" Lucas began to panic.
"Unfortunately yes." I began "there are people out there who only want power and will do anything to get it."
Lucas looked to me with a worried look on his face.
"Don't worry, they're just power hungry idiots who don't know what they're doing." Ninten tried to reassure.
"But aren't you worried about getting hurt?" Lucas asked.
"Nah, even if we do we can always heal each other." Ninten answered.
"What if someone... dies? You can't heal them then can you."
"Well, the chance of someone dying is very low so- wait... how do you know that?" Ninten questioned seriously.

Now that Ninten brought it up, it was a little strange that Lucas knew about that. He was the one to mention it when Ninten was unconscious earlier and he seemed really worried about it as well.

"O-oh you know, it was just a thought." Lucas answered quietly.
"But it wasn't was it! You know something that we don't" Ninten shouted as he stopped in his tracks and turned to Lucas angrily. Lucas flinched back.
"I-I don't know anything... I-I really don't!" Lucas cried out.

Ninten approached Lucas.
"You're lying! I bet you do have Psi and you're asking all of these questions because you have some sort of plan to betray us!" Ninten shouted.
"I-I don't ! I swear-"
"Don't deny it ! I can read your mind , idiot!" Ninten reminded. Lucas paused for a moment.
"I'm telling you, I don't have Psi! If I did I wouldn't be here ... I-I would be- Never mind." Lucas tried to defend.
"Never mind what!?"
"If I had Psi then I would be able to defend myself , but no! I can't even do that!" Lucas shouted back.
"Shut it! How do you think I feel being the only one without any Psi attacks!? You're so arrogant ! You think defeating a Starman in one hit was nothing so stop lying by acting like you're always the victim!" Ninten insulted.
