Cafe - Hwitae

     The cafe door swung open and Taeyang walked in. The sweet smell of coffee was intoxicating. He wasn't sure if he would stop in today. He wasn't sure if he would face Hwiyoung. He decided his love for hot chocolate couldn't be neglected, so he stopped by on his way to work. He walked up to the counter, not looking up until he got there.

     "He's in the bathroom. A usual, I presume." He heard Dawon say. He nodded and pulled the money out of his wallet. After taking the drink, he smiled and moved to sit at a table. As he turned around he saw a boy over by the window. It was the same boy who was with Hwiyoung after school. He sighed and moved to a table on the opposite side of the room. 

     He looked out the window. The people continued to pass by. Some were carrying briefcases, others with shopping bags. Occasionally cars would drive by. Taeyang continued to observe the buildings, hearing the hum of conversation behind him. When he finished his drink, he stood up, tossed the empty cup in the trash, and exited the place.

     When Hwiyoung got back from the bathroom, he saw Taeyang sitting by the window. His heartbeat sped up and his stomach began to churn. He didn't want to see him. At least, not here. He would have to see him at school and that hurt him enough. Then again, he couldn't tell him not to come here.

     Look at him. So much better without you.

     Hwiyoung ran his fingers through his hair. He shook his head. Dawon tapped him on the shoulder.

     "Okay, I've put it off but I need to ask. Who's the guy?" He said leaning against the counter. Hwiyoung smiled.

     "What are you talking about?" He said.

     "The one by the window. The one you came in with today. The guy who you walked off with after school on Friday. Who is he?" Dawon was not letting this go. Everyone had been wondering. 

     "His name is Chanho. He's a close friend." Hwiyoung said trying to brush off the topic like it was nothing. 

     "How come none of us have ever seen him before. I would remember." 

     "He's just here to visit." Hwiyoung was trying to end the conversation. He had no interest in his friends getting close to Chanho. Of course it might be nice, but things would be different. Hwiyoung looked up and saw that Taeyang wasn't there anymore. Instead, he saw Chanho approaching them.

     "Hello." He greeted before looking up at the menu as if he hadn't already had two cups of coffee.

     "Why hello there. What would you like today?" Dawon asked, rocking back and forth slightly. 

     "I'll take a small black coffee, please." Chanho responded and began to pull his wallet out.  Dawon nodded and stepped over to get that started.

     "Put it away. This is your third cup, you think you'd know by now. Don't worry about paying, I got it." Hwiyoung said, leaning against the counter in front of him. Chanho just frowned. Dawon soon came walking over with a cup and handed it to him.

     "So, Hwiyoung's friend, I don't believe we have formally met. I'm Lee Dawon." He stuck his hand out and Chanho shook it.

     "I'm Youngkyunie's friend, Hwang Chanho." Dawon raised a brow at the boy.

     "Youngkyunie, huh? That's certainly not something we hear often." 

     "I mean it's my name, just not the one I usually go by." Hwiyoung shrugged. 

     "Still, it was nice to finally meet you. Always good to put a name to a face."

     Taeyang stood behind the counter in the bookstore, scrolling through twitter for the nth time today. Occasionally a customer would wonder in and purchase something, but he hadn't had too much to do all day. He set his phone down and pulled a random book off of a nearby shelf. He read over the summary and set it back after he found no interest in it. The little bell above the door dinged so he looked up to see Hanmin walk in. 

     "Hello, Yangie." She said while walking down the first few rows of shelves. 

     "Hello, Hannie." He greeted back. She turned to him and glared, but soon continued with her search. After a few minutes, she approached him with three thin paperbacks. She set them down and smiled. 

     "How has work been so far? Doesn't seem to bad." 

     "Hardly busy at all. How have you been?" He said as he rang her up. 

     "I've been quite alright. I met up with my boyfriend this morning and-"

     "Wait wait wait wait wait, boyfriend?" Taeyang asked. To say he was shocked was an understatement. Hanmin was beautiful, sweet, and smart, but he hadn't heard anything about her being in a relationship. 

     "Yeah, my boyfriend. He doesn't go to our school." The girl said, grabbing the bag he set in front of her. Taeyang slowly nodded. "You'll have to meet him sometime." 

     "Sometime." He said, walking around the counter and back over to a bookshelf. She waved to him as she left. He pulled another book down and examined the cover.

i talked about the lack of Taeyang's perspective but honestly it's easier from me to write from Hwi so that's what we'll get for now.

i had my first tournament today! i lost all 5 matches :)
