Chapter 19

Cam's POV

"Kayla! What the fuck is wrong with you!?" I screamed at her. She just stared at me and snickered. She's such a bitch.

I hate her so much. I glared at her, helped Maggie up, and walked away. "I knew this would happen. I guess I'm just an easy target. Maybe if I'm not alive the world would be better." She said tears streaming down her face.

I'm crushed. I can't believe she's thinking this. Why doesn't she understand that she's perfect? All of those bitches and bullies got to her head. Now her thoughts are getting scrambled up. "Maggie, you are perfect the way you are. Don't let the bullies get into your head." She looked down and shook her head. She mumbled something. I couldn't hear her, but I could tell she was upset.

"What did you say?"

"You don't understand!" She yelled while looking up at me. She was absolutely balling.

"Maggie yes I do. I understand exactly how you feel.. When you were in Connecticut, I got bullied non-stop everyday. I would hide in the bathroom during lunch and cry. Trust me, I know what you're going through. If you ever need someone to talk to, don't hesitate to talk about it with me." I pulled her into a hug and kissed her forehead.

Maggie's POV

When Cam told me this it made me feel better that I'm not the only one. Cameron has been through shit too. I got out of his hug and looked at him. "Will it ever get better?" I asked with hopeful eyes.

"Trust me baby. It will get better. You might have to deal with it now, but I swear I will do everything in my ability to protect you from those bitches." I giggled a little bit. Then, I extended my arms, and wrapped them around his torso. He wrapped his around my neck, but using one hand to stroke my hair. I started crying again.

"Shhhh baby it's okay shhh you can get through this." He comforted. No matter how hard my life is, I know that I can go to Cameron to calm me down.

We separated from eachother, and walked to art. When we got there the teacher was mad. "How can you be late on the first day of school?!" She said.

"Mrs. Sharley, I'm truly sorry, but I was just showing our new student around." Cameron apologized.

"Oh! A new student! What's your name sweetie?" Mrs.Sharley asked.

"Maggie." I said my face was hot from crying, but it got even hotter since everyone was staring at me.

"Beautiful name! Alright take your seats. Cameron, thank you for showing her around."

"No problem!" Cam said back. He led me to two empty seats right next to eachother. Mrs.Sharley walked to the front of the class, and started talking about the new school year.

"-Must be prepared for class, and yeah I think that's it. Oh! Almost forgot. We have a project to start of the year." Everyone moaned. I bet they're all thinking, Why would we start a project on the first day of school? This sucks!

"Alright, alright that's enough! Anyway, I'm going to be assigning your partners." Everyone in the class looked pissed.

"Okay? okay! Jenna with Zack, Sarah with Tiffany, Carly with Kendra, Alec with Chelsea, Erica with Heather, Julie with Maggie, and Cameron with Kaileigh!" What? No! I can't not be with Cam! Who's this Julie? She's probably another bully.... yay! "It's okay.. Julie is nice I'm friends with her." Cameron said before leaving to go to Kaileigh. Julie came over, and sat next to me.

"Hey! I'm Julie, and your name is Maggie right?" She asked in the most friendly way I could ever imagine.

"Yeah that's right." I clarified.

"Okay. Now that we know each other, let's talk about this project. I thin-"

"I'll do all the work, and put your name on it. Just please don't hurt me." I begged cutting her off completely.

"Um...what are you talking about?" She asked very confused.

"The project. I'll do it, but just please don't bully me." She stared into my eyes. All I saw was pure sympathy.

"Oh, Maggie.... I would never do that. How about I come over after school tomorrow, and we can work on this together." I gave her a weak smile. She was about to get up, but she stopped herself.

"Oh and Maggie?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you want a hug?" She asked with her arms wide open. I gave her a real smile, and nodded. She gave nice warm hugs. Julie and Cam are probably the best huggers ever. They both give warm, really comforting hugs. We separated, and I spoke up "Thank you." I didn't really mean to say this... it kinda just came out. "No problem. Whenever you need to talk, I'll be here for you." She said with a very sincere tone. "Thanks Julie....Hey.. um can I have your number so I can talk to you about the project?" I asked trying to cover up the fact that I just wanted another friend. "Or... I can give you my number so you could talk to me as a friend." I smiled, and she smiled right back.

I handed her my phone, and she just looked up at me with her mouth dropped open. "Uh... what?"

"You. Like. Fall Out Boy." She said as her toned stayed exactly the same. I chuckled at the fact that she was reacting this way. I was glad that I now have a friend that likes the same thing I do. "I don't just like Fall Out Boy. I love them." She did a fangirl screech, and jumped a little. For the rest of the period, Julie and I talked about our new fandom that were both apart of. I think I'm really going to like Julie. No.... I already really like Julie.
