Cam's POV
Today, I get to go home! I hate hospitals with a burning passion. It's so clean, yet so gross. It's over now, so I should be good. The doctors said I wasn't eating and drinking enough so my body ran out of energy. Well, lesson learned.
Maggie comes skipping into the room. Oh my god! ahhhh! she's like a little 5 year old at heart but looks like a 18 year old! "Hey baby cakes! I got you some apple juice!" She said cutely.
"Thanks honey bunches! You always know what I love!" I know, I know. you're probably thinking right now: Those nicknames are just.....um..how do I put this... uh incredibly unoriginal! Well, that's just our thing.. okay? We both love nicknames. Have you noticed that I call her Mags, and she calls me Cam? Well, now you know.
"It's my job! Now drink up, so we can leave! This place is creeping me out!" I finished my apple juice, and she helps me out of bed. I'm still kind of weak. That, and I love having her in my arms or being close to her. We start walking down the hallways when I remember something.
"Hey babe! Guess what's in a couple of days!!" I said excitedly.
"Hmmmm..." she pondered. "Best friends day?" She asked acting like she doesn't know.
"Naw silly goose! ITS MY PRINCESS' BIRTHDAY!" I basically yelled. Everyone looked at us. Maggie was blushing....aw...dats cute. One nurse came over, and wished Mags a happy birthday. She said thank you, and glared at me.
"What?" I asked confused.
"Look what you started." She stared at me cracking a little smile. We stopped in the middle of the hallway, and just stared at each other.
"Don't lie. You like the attention." I said while pushing the hair out of her face. She blushed, and look at the ground. "okay.. maybe I-" I cut her l off by crashing my lips onto hers. I could tell she was surprised because she was all tense. After a second or two she relaxed into my arms. She let go and hugged me. "I love you." She said in a very loving tone. "I love you so much more baby girl." I replied back then kissed her before she could say anything else. I looked down at our hands which were intertwined with each other. Suddenly, I saw a new bracelet on her wrist. I've seen every one of Maggie's bracelets. I obviously needed to see the brand spanking new one!
"WOAH NEW BRACELETS!" I let go of her hand and grabbed her arm. I look at it, and it was a yarn bracelet with beads on it. "I think this would look good on me." I said while looking in Maggie's beautiful eyes, smiling at her. I tugged on the bracelet to try to take it off. "No, Cameron... don't." She said with a very sad tone.
"Why.... what's wrong?" I asked very curiously.
"It's just... I don't want you- uh.... I don't know.... nothings wrong." She said looking down.
"judging by the way you said that sentence, I think something's wrong." I said lifting her face up. All I saw was a small tear drop down her face as she looked into my eyes. I didn't say anything about it. I just embraced her in a hug. "I'm sorry Cameron." She whispered into my chest. I pulled away from the hug and looked at her with a confused face. "What? Why are you saying sorry?"
"I-I'm sorry that you have to deal with a mess up like me." She said while more tears fell down her face. I cupped her face and made the space between us shorter. "Babe. You are not a mess up. You are beautiful in every way possible. You're smart, funny, and super sweet. Maggie, you're worth something. I wouldn't be able to picture my life without you. I love you so much Maggie." I kissed her lips lightly, and she gave me a small smile.
"I love you too Cameron." She said weakly between kisses.
"We need to talk later." I said while looking into her eyes. She responded immediately, "about what?"
"Nothing... nothing I just wanted to ask you a question."
"Okay..." she said quietly. She wrapped her arms around my torso, and we walked out of the hospital in complete silence.
"Your house or mine?" She asked breaking the silence.
"Mine... I'll drive." I said while walking to the drivers seat.
"Oh nooooo way! I'm driving. You literally just got released from the hospital a second ago." She said while blocking the door.
"Fine. Whatever you say, mom." I said while smiling. She returned the favor and smiled back at me.
The car ride was filled with Fall Out Boy and Twenty One Pilots playing softly in the background. It's nice knowing I can just escape from reality with her.
