Nothingness

First day of school...kinda

As I walk down the sidewalk, with Laurence by my side, I hear a girl voice call out to Laurence.

She sounds.. familiar..

I turn around to see that raven haired girl from the first day of school! That girl that clapped at my singing!

She reminds me of Kyle..
on that day..
I had Kyle..
erm.. nevermind. I shouldn't think like that.

"Hey Laurence! What's up!"
She asks Laurence catching up to us.

"Hey aph! We're just walking to school." Laurence says back.
I kinda walk with them silently.

Then Aph, I think her name is.. wait.. wasn't it Aphmau?
I don't know.
Anyways she looks at me, then at Laurence.

"Hey Laurence? Who's this?" She asks him, smiling at me.
She seems nice.

"OH! How rude of me! This is Y/n! She is.. my new sister!!" He tells her happily and proudly.
I smile and shake my head.

We stop walking and she faces me with her hand outstretched.
I take it and we shake hands.

"I'm Aphmau! But most of my friends call me Aph!" She tell me. Her voice is very preppy.

"I'm Y/n, but you can call me N/N if you want.." I mumble but I try and sound as happy as her. Even though I feel very awkward.

All three of us walk to school. I remember the fountain.. i remember everyone staring..

I freeze as I'm walking up to the courtyard.

what if they remember me?
what if they bully me?
What if..
what if...

I can't do this..
there's no way.

"Hey..? You ok..?" I hear a slightly distant voice call for me.

"Y/N?"

"huh..?" I say snapping back into reality.
I feel a little nauseous but I look and see who was talking to me.

"Are you ok? You look pale. I can take you back home if you need to?" Laurence asks again.

"n..no im.. I'm er.. I'm fine.. it's just been a while.." I say shaking my head.

He nods and we slowly walk into the courtyard.
I go sit on a bench while Laurence and Aphmau go get their friends.

people are staring..
whispering..
talking..
about me?
do I look funny?
Did I do something wrong?
Why must they stare?
Ugh! Just stop!
Do they remember me?
Kyle?
dad..
mom....

us...

"Hey isn't that the girl from the beginning of the year?"
"Yea! She's the one that yelled at everyone!"

They all whisper.
I can't do this!
No.. stop! Please!

The bell rings and I finally breath in.
I didn't realize but I was holding my breath.

I walk into the doors, and I loose Laurence in the crowd.

"Y/n? Y/n where did you go?"
I hear Laurence call out as I run somewhere near the entrance of the school and sit in a corner.
I put my head in my knees and cover my ears.

"Y/n? There you are!" Laurence calls out crouching beside me.

"You ok?-" Laurence grabs my books and things. "Here, I'll take you to your homeroom."
We wait for the crowd to thin a little bit, and then he takes me to my homeroom class.
Laurence hands me my books, gives me a hug, and runs off to his class.
I sigh and walk in the room.
