Word count: 1607

A/n modern au about two dweebs. I had to cause why not? Also I don't write enough about them. Hope you enjoy! Its mostly just fluffy moments no smut or anything (also they are older here so freaking out)

Third Pov

“Bored!!!” Pidge  yelled, plopping herself into the couch, “So bored!!!” she repeated, this time, flipping herself upsidedown and crossing her arms over her chest. Her chestnut brown hair also followed gravity and stood on end. After a few minutes of sitting like this, her face started to become flushed from the blood that was now rushing to her head.

Shiro, who was sitting in a chair across the room reading a book, looked up at her and rolled his eyes, “Pidge, you look like a child. Get up.” he said, clearly annoyed with her.

“I fruse!!!” Pidge  shouted, throwing her arms into the air. In the process of doing this, she lost her balance and fell, head over heels, onto the floor. She lay there, with her hands outstretched and her feet spread apart, “Better?” she asked sarcastically.

“Not really. Now you just look like an idiot.” Shiro  said, not picking up on the sarcasm, or choosing to ignore it.

Pidge put a hand on her chest, a look of mock offence on her face, “Why you gotta be so rude? Don’t you know I’m human too?” she sang to him, reverting back to her cheerful mood.

“How are we even friends?” he asked Pidge .

She shrugged, “I dunno. Maybe because you love me?”

“What?!?!” Shiro  dropped his book in surprise, a blush immediately crossing his face.

Pidge wasn’t looking, luckily for him, so she didn’t see the red on his cheeks, “Kidding! Why do you gotta take everything so seriously? Lighten up a little!” she laughed. Pidge sighed and picked up his book again.

They sat in silence for a what felt like hours. Eventually, Shiro  put the book down on the arm of the chair. He stood up and walked over to where Pidge lay. He had been subjected to the bored feeling that filled the air.

“Alright, what do you want to do?” he asked, sitting down cross legged on the carpet next to her. Pidge just shrugged her shoulders.

“We could go to the park?” she suggested after a few seconds of quiet.

“We could do that. Just let me go change.” Shiro  said, gesturing to the tank top he had on.

“Why?” Pidge said enthusiastically.

“I don’t think people would appreciate a scary looking guy with a metal arm walking around their kid.” Shiro said.

“You are not scary looking. And besides, I think your arm is cool!”

“Maybe you do, but I don’t. Like I said, even if I did feel comfortable , it might freak some people out.” he told her, “I’ll be back out in a second.” Pidge crossed her arms in a huff and gave a mumbled ‘whatever’. Shiro chuckled and walked out of the room and into his bedroom.

The reason they lived together was, but they would never admit it, was that they liked each others company. Their friendship was unlikely because they couldn’t have been more different. Pidge was bouncy, hyper and cheerful well most of the time, whereas Shiro was cold, silent and overall a party pooper as said by Lance. According to Keith, he used to be more talkative and warm towards others, but pidge doubted that. But despite their small spats and conflicts of personality, in the year that they had known each other, they had become quite close.
