Info:( right after Keith decides to join BMM and leave Voltron) Lance thought it was a gift from the gods that Keith, his rival is out of his sight for good but months go on and he's starting to miss him. Wait does Lance miss Keith? No way! Right?

Lance Pov
So that was it. Keith Kogane left the paladins to join kolivan and rest of the rebels. I didn't think Keith took that seriously. I mean of course he's a serious guy but he's a little all over the place. Like for starters he was a horrible leader but I was there to help him through.

He even supported me when I thought I wasn't important anymore and made me feel worthy. Maybe that's why we work better together? Well we used to I guess. "Lance you coming?" I was so lost in thought that the rest were already heading to eat dinner. "Oh yeah just a second."

They took off and I walked towards Keith's room I knocked and heard him "come in" the door slid open and i saw Keith packing a few things which were not much. He had a few crystals we collected as we visited cool planets. He also took the bracelet I made him. "What's up?" "I just wanted to make sure you're okay." He smirks a bit

"Yeah. I'm fine." He said as he picked up his bag "So you're really going?" He looks at me and nods "Yeah. Like I said before I'm no leader. I really suck at all that and everyone complained about how I did it. Especially you." I sigh "I know I was just upset that the lion didn't choose me. But you were getting the hang of it man. You did alright cause I helped you." He chuckles softly

"You were just there to clean my mistakes Lance. I wasn't fit for that position. Anyways I gotta go before Kolivan leaves me behind." He walks by me but stops "Lance" "Yeah Keith?" He held the red crystal we found awhile ago and gave it to me "I want you to have this. I won't be wearing it like before.." "You wore it?"

"Yeah when we were both on side missions. It gave me strength. Now I want you to have strength and to keep everyone calm and together. Promise me that?" I smiled and nodded "Yeah. I promise." I looked at him and saw the blue crystal I gave him for luck. "Can I give you one last hug?" He nods and I pulled him close.

He smelled different and it wasn't the same smell the others had. It smelled like cheap cologne and outside. It wasn't his earthy scent or lilys. Keith wasn't Keith. As he pulled away he waved and walked out. "Take care Lance" he whispered as the door closed.

A month Later....

I woke up tired as I played videogames all night to try and ignore this empty feeling. It's weird not having Keith around and it's hard to focus when we have training. I mean yeah we chat and see Keith when he's available but it's usually weeks or months. I guess you can say I miss having a rival. I can't be mean and rude with anyone cause they're my friends. Well Keith was my friend but he left so..ugh!

"What's the matter with me?" I mumbled as I walked towards the kitchen and see hunk cooking "Morning Hunk" "Its afternoon Lance? You okay? You seem tired?" "Yeah just played videogames last night." He sighs as he hands me a plate "Dude I think you miss Keith." I pushed him away

"Dude! I don't miss him! I hated him!" Well that's not true I grew to hate him less now. "Lance, you acted the same way when Keith got kicked out of the Garrison. Also when your parents visited and left on visting day. Dude its fine if you miss him cause I'm pretty sure shiro misses him too." Oh right Shiro was with Keith first and were close.

"I don't miss him hunk. I'm just adjusting to not having an mullet headed guy being around." "Whatever you say Lance. Please get some sleep?" I nodded "I'll try." I finished my plate and headed to bed. I sat on my bed twirling around the red crystal as I thought of Keith. His smile, his laugh and his eyes. Oh those eyes seem to shine brighter whenever we talked or hung out together.

"Lance?" I jumped and hid the crystal under my pillow as I cleared my voice "Come in" the door opened and Pidge came in "Oh. It's you. What do you want shortie?" "First off. Don't call me shortie and second I want a chance to play the videogame you've been on it all week since Keith left." Even his name is starting to bother me

"Play it. I need to get out my room for awhile." She raised a brow "Are you okay Lance?" "Yeah why wouldn't I be?" "You seem like you're off? Like not you're bubbly and charming self." I chuckled "Well thanks for calling me charming~" I winked at her as I walked out. But as soon as the door closed I felt the urge to cry? Why did I want to cry? Do I actually miss him? Do I miss Keith Kogane?

A week Later..

It was official I missed Keith. His presence. His weird and awkward banter. His cold stare. His purple gray eyes. His hair. I gasp as I felt a tear roll down my face as I wiped it off and shook my head. Why did he leave? Was it because I took red? I told him I could step aside but like always he made me feel important and now I have no one.

"Lance? Why are you crying?" I look up and see Keith in that Garla suit as he looks concerned "Keith? What are you uh doing here?" "We came for a meeting. I didn't see you there with the others so I slipped away and went to look. Is something wrong?"

My brows knitted together as I let more tears flow out "Why'd you leave?" He tilts his head "I didn't belong in Voltron." "No. You did! You're using the same thing I said when the lion chose you! You told me I'm important in Voltron and I should stay. I tried telling you but you stepped back and turned your back on us. On me!" He gasps as he lowers his head

"I did what was best for Voltron and for you. You get to be the best paladin Lance and be able to save lives and connect with them. I'm not you or anyone cause I push people away. I belong with the blades I'm more custom to their techniques now and able to activate my sword. I'm a Garla."

"You're half! You are also human Keith! You were doing the best for the team and it was okay to make mistakes because you learn from them! Do you know how hard it's been for me since you left?" He nods and stays silent for a bit "Hard. Painful?" I nod "Yeah because I miss you!" I blushed and lowered my head as I noticed his face turn red

"Y-you miss me?" I nod "Yeah I miss your stupid butt." He came closer and wiped my eyes as he smiled softly as he held the Crystal "You wear it?" "Yeah all the time. It relaxes me when I get an odd feeling." He sighs as he pulled out the blue crystal "I've had this on since I left. It reminded me of your eyes and your stupid face." I chuckled slightly as we stood there

"Do you miss me personally or miss our banter?" That was a really good question. Did I miss Keith as a whole or just parts? "Both probably. It's not the same if everyone knows my word play." He smirks "Hey I was slowly learning" we laughed a bit as I looked at him "I'm sorry Lance for hurting you like that. I didn't expect you to miss me like that? Honestly I thought you still hated me?" I shake my head

"I never hated you Keith. I just pretended to and I was your right hand when we did missions and stuff. Now it's different and I don't really go on supply runs or whatever anymore." He sighs "Lance you are strong and awesome and I believe you will do better without me here. I have faith in you and I just want you to be happy and make others happy like you did with me."

He smiled as he turned to walk "Now come on so you know the mission." I nodded and followed as I got closer to him. I looked at him as he looked at me "What?" I pulled him closer and hugged him "I missed you" he held tighter and it felt nice feeling his warmth and touch. It's been a long time since I've saw him in the flesh.

"I missed you too" I smiled as I held tighter "Promise you'll never leave me?" "I promise." I let go as I looked into his eyes "okay. Let's get back before we get into trouble as we turned the corner we stopped and saw the pidge and Hunk looking innocent "Uh what are you two doing here?" "Oh we were just-" "just walk-" "about!"

Keith nods and takes off as I look at pidge and hunk who seemed anxious "okay seriously what were you doing?" "Alright. We wanted to make sure you didn't fight with Keith." "Also I came cause I thought you two were gonna kiss and make up like that Katy Perry song Hot and Cold." I shake my head

"We talked and worked it out like always but I bet you two know that." "Sorry" hunk said as Pidge nods "You are correct. Also do you have real feelings towards Keith romantically?" I blush and shake my head "What! No way! We are just friends and we have a complicated relationship right now okay!" They start giggling "Sure Lance. Sure you don't like Keith that way." I groan and walked beside her "I'm leaving!" Who knows I might actually do.
