I get out of bed when I hear voices yelling from downstairs. As soon as I'm halfway down, Adaline and Sky grow silent. "I think I have laundry to fold." And with that, she vanishes. Leaving just Sky and I. "What are you wearing?" His voice is unusually low, and as I look at his face, I notice his eyes looking everywhere but my face.
" A nightgown." I snap.
"A really hot nightgown." He mumbles, but I hear.
"Excuse me?"
"Nothing." He scratches his neck nervously, then walks out of the room."Hey wait!" I struggle to catch up, Sky's very fast. When he doesn't turn around, I grab his arm and spin him around until he's facing me. "I heard you, you know!" I cross my arms, and as I do, one of my nightgowns straps falls off. My cheeks immediately redden. "Oh yeah sweetheart, what are you going to do about it?" Sky walks forward, takes the strap and puts it back on my shoulder. I gulp and look up into his ocean blue eyes. Leaning down to my ear, he whispers "if you're trying to ignore me, you might want to work a little harder."
Then, he walks away, leaving me stunned.
"Adaline?" I call, but she doesn't answer. "Hey Sk-"
"She went out." I jump, I didn't notice him sitting on the couch.
"Oh, so um, what's for dinner?" I ask.
"Figure it out." He answers, scrolling through his phone.
"Fine, I will." I turn on my heal, stomping off to the kitchen.I'm in the middle of cooking pasta, when strong arms wrap around my waist, pulling me away from my soon to be masterpiece. "Hey!" I squeal, "let me go Sky!" But he just buries his head in my shoulder. I keep squirming, but his grip just tightens. So I do the only thing I can think of, and elbow him in the stomach.
"Ow." He growls, "you'll pay for that." I just smirk in reply. Turning back to my dinner, I take it off the stove, and put it into two bowls. "Here." I shove his into his hands, and storm upstairs with mine.
Sky's POV
I watch as she goes up the stairs, and it's taking all my willpower to not follow her. I know something's bothering her, and heck, it might be me but I just want to help her with whatever it is. Why am I going soft?! I'm never this caring, just ask any of my friends, and they'll say how "cold hearted" I am.Shaking my head, I sit on the couch and flick through tv channels. I finally settle on South Park, there's really not much else on. Soon the characters voices start to annoy me, and I'm done my food. So I decide to see what Maya is up to.
" Head under water and they tell me to breathe easy for a while. The breathing gets harder, even I know that." I can hear her singing from landing, her voice is light, and somewhat angelic. I stand just outside her door, watching as she unpacks her clothes from her suitcase. "I'm not going to write you a love song, cause you asked for it, cause you need one, you see I'm not-"
"You have a lovely voice." I say, walking into her room. Her cheeks turn a rose pink, but she quickly recovers. "Were you watching me?"
"No, technically I was listening to you." I smirk. She rolls her eyes. "Creep." In two strides I'm in front of her. "What did you just call me?"
"A creep, now get out of my room."
"Make me." I say. I step forward, and start to wrap my arms around her, but she pushes my chest, making me stumble backwards in surprise.Maya walks to her door, but pauses before she leaves. "If you're trying to resist me, then you might want to work a little harder." She winks.
I stand there in shock. What is that girl doing to me?
