Saying Goodbye

I glance one last time at myself in the mirror, trying to keep it together, and be strong for my family.
"Maya." I turn around, and see that Sky has a sleeping Rebecca in his arms, in an adorable black dress with a head band.
"Sky, you didn't have to dress her." I say, taking her from his arms.
"Yes I did, you're delicate right now, and I want to help. You do so much with Rebecca, and I want to relive you of some tasks." I think my heart just melted.
"I love you." We kiss quickly on the lips, then head downstairs.

"Okay everyone, please follow me out into the garden." Nico says. Because of the attack yesterday, it's not safe to have the funeral outside of the property, and it's only with people closet to the family.

We walk to the back of the garden, and I let out a gasp. A massive oak tree stands tall, it's green leaves shining in the sunlight. In front of the magnificent tree, is several types of flowers.
"This is my father's grave." I kneel down, running my hands across his name, carved into the stone.

"It seemed only fitting to bury Elena with her brother." Nico comes up behind me, laying his hand on my shoulder.

"Yes, he would have wanted this." My voice cracks, but I hold back the tears that I know are on the verge of release.

"Hey, you ok?" Sky comes up with Rebecca, flanking my other side.

"What do you think man?" Nico glares at him. "Does she look ok to you?"

"Please," I barely recognize my own voice. I sound so weak. "Don't argue, not today." Both boys shift uncomfortably, like they've been told that they're not allowed to have candy. Except in this case, that they're not allowed to fight.

"Ladies and gentleman, shall we begin?" Nico is standing beside the coffin, a piece of paper in his hand. I didn't even see him move from my side.

I lightly take a sleeping Rebecca from Sky's arms, knowing that I am certainly going to need her to get me through this.

We all go inside after the ceremony, nobody says a word.
"I'm going to put Rebecca in her crib." I mumble to sky. He nods.

I pass the bar on my way up, and see Dorian finish a glass of what looks like whiskey.
"Dori?" I start, using the nickname I alway used to call him when I was younger. He turns. His eyes are bloodshot from crying.
"Maya. Disculpe. I am not myself."
"Don't apologize. I know you're hurting."
"I think-" he sniffles. "I need to get away for a while." I move towards him.
"Ok. I'll miss you though." Dorian hugs me.
"So will I. Especially this little one." He boops Becca on the nose.

After I return from setting Rebecca down, I'm not with sudden jolt of anger. I decide to meet the family back in the living room.
"Sky, Guys. We need to something." Everyone looks at me strange. "Hear me out. You, me-" I point at sky and I. "Getting married as soon as possible so we can merge the two mafias, and then we need to reconvene with the Vitolanti's to finish off the Russians once and for all." Nico grins at the last part.
"Let's do it."

Ayyyyy after like four years I have "finished" this book. I plan on tying this story to La Reina de la Mafia and I'll try my best to not make it confusing. Thank you all so much for the reads!

P.S: Sorry for the short chapter😬
