I can't sleep, and it's not because of the hard mattress in the crappy motel room. Sky. My heart breaks a little more every time I hear his name.

I hate you. He said that. Sky said he hated me. I walk over to the small window, gazing out of it, wishing that I would see Sky appear, with that wonderful smile on his face that seems to light up the world.

Sky's POV
"Sky, have you seen Maya?" Two hours later, my aunt comes into my room.
"She left." I state blankly.
"Don't lie to me Sky Braxton Luca."
"I'm not." I say.
"So why did Val tell me that she heard you two yelling at each other?"
"Val's a liar."
"One, you can never lie to me, and two, you do not insult my friend."
"I'm not lying!" I protest.
"So, you didn't kick Maya out, say you hate her, and break her heart?"
"She broke my heart first!" I yell/cry. "Don't you understand? She lied to me about who she was, I fell in love with an imaginary person, and I don't even know if she ever really loved me."
"Sky, did she tell you she loved you?"
"Yeah."
"So..?"
"So I'm still not going to forgive her." Adaline shakes her head.
"Think about what you're doing to her." She walks to the door, then turns to face me. "And what you're doing to yourself." I bury my head in my pillow, and cry.

Maya's POV
"Adaline?" I pick up my phone.
"Where are you Maya?" Judging by the noise in the backyard, I can tell she's in her car.
"I- I'm at a motel, by the little strip mall?"
"I'm on my way."

"Adaline." I start to cry again as my friend wraps her arms around me, securing me in a warm, safe hug.
"Oh honey, it's going to be ok."
"No it's not." I sob.
"Yes, it is. I'm taking you back." I pull away from Adaline.
"What about Sky?"
"Stay in the basement. He never goes down there."
"I shouldn't have to hide." I say.
"I know." Adaline sighs. "I know, you just have to wait until he comes around."
"Will he ever?" My voice cracks.
"Only one way to find out."

"Sky's out, doing something right now, so you have time to settle in." Please don't be moving on Sky. I think.
"Ok."
"Hey," Adaline wraps me in another hug. "You'll make it through, Maya, I know you will." Me on the other hand, am not so sure.

I was watching Mission Impossible, eating KD, which Adaline had snuck down to me. I couldn't have the volume up to loud, or any lights on. It was basically like I had to just disappear.

I get up at 5:30 in the morning. I still can't sleep. I cover my bags with concealer, and apply the basic makeup stuff. Then I change into a cute/comfortable outfit.

I quietly creep upstairs, and decide that I'm going to make pancakes. When I'm done, I turn around to go back downstairs, and come face to face with an angry Sky.

Sky's POV
"What are you doing here?" I snap.
"You're aunt took me back yesterday. And I was just trying to make my breakfast."
"At 5:00 in the morning?"
"Well sorry, but I kind of was trying to avoid you, you know, because you hate me." Her voice shakes.
"You can stay, as long as I don't see you."
"Fine." She takes her pancakes, "and by the way, I really liked you more when you weren't an as*hole." She stomps down the stairs, and I so desperately want to go after her, but I have to remind myself that I hate her. But do I really though?
