"So I was thinking," Adaline starts, before sky rudely buts in. "Ugh, I'm not going."
"You don't even know what she was going to say!" I snap at him.
"I'm pretty sure I do," he glares at me before turning back to his aunt. "You're going to take us to the towns summer carnival."
"Yes but-"
"I'm not going. That place is filled with gross little children running around because their high on sugar, and," he pauses. "Everything there is a waste of money."
"That's not true Sky, remember when you were younger, you'd always play the games for the stuffed animals?"Sky rolls his eyes, "no."
"He loved to play them Maya, he always got so competitive." I grin mischievously at Sky,
"Looks like someone is afraid of getting beat."
"Ha, me get beat? Not a chance."
"Then prove it." I say getting up, "and come to the carnival."I put on some white shorts, pairing them with a white bralette. It's to free for me, so I sneak into Sky's room, and look through his drawers until I find what I want. I put the light blue dress shirt on, roll up the sleeves, and head downstairs.
"Is that my shirt?" Sky is standing right at the bottom of the stairs.
"And so what if it is?" I reply. He smiles, that's right he's actually smiling, and takes a step closer to me.
"You look nice."
"Well , you don't look that bad, I guess." I shrug, and go to join Adaline in the car."Hey, no! You cheated!" I place my water gun down, and glare at Sky. "You cheated!" I repeat again angrily, hitting his chest with my open palm.
"Ow, I'm wounded!" Sky pretends to stumble like he's been shot.
"Oh come on drama queen, let's just play again." I say.I only won one time. One time! When we arrive back at the house, I storm down to it's private beach and sit down in the sand. This is really peaceful I think I'm just going to lay h- the ringtone of my phone disrupts my peaceful thoughts, so grumbling, I pick it up.
"Who is it?" I snap.
"Oh darling! I was so worried that-"
"Mom," I seethe, "what do you want."
"I want you to come back sweetie! You're just ruining our images by being wherever you are." She pauses for a split second, "where are you exactly?." I don't hesitate as I say,
"Far away from you." Ending the call, I chuck my phone into the ocean. What's happening to you? My inner voice asks, I'm breaking, is the only thing I manage to get out before I fall to the sand, sobbing.
Opening my eyes kicks my senses in. This is not my room, and whose arm is around my waist? Turning around, my nose touches someone else's . "Ah!" I yell, "what the hell?!" Sky opens his eyes, and immediately pulls himself away from me. "Oh god," I groan, "did we-?"
"No."
"So what am I doing in a bed with you?" I ask suspiciously.
"It was 11:00, and I still hadn't heard you come in so I went outside to see if you were ok and... I saw you lying there on the beach. I panicked and brought you here." Sky looks at me intently, "what were you doing out there?"
"I was just trying to clear my head." Sky looks as if he doesn't believe me, but thankfully he lets it go."Wow, you're view is incredible!" I say, walking over to his big circular window.
"Yeah, it is."
Sky's POV
"Wow, your view is incredible!" Maya says, walking to the window.
"Yeah, it is." Her back is to me, so she doesn't see how I'm looking at her. She's easily the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. Sure I've been with pretty girls before, but they didn't have inner beauty like she does, they were all self centred little b-
"Sky? Why are you looking at me like that?"
"What?" I shake my head, "I was just um, I just thought you had something in your hair." She raises her eyebrows. "Wanna go to a party tonight?" I quickly blurt. She blinks,
"No, sorry I don't." I let out a sigh of relief.
"Good."
"So why did you ask?" I shrug.
"Just wondering."
"Okay," she walks out of my room, and I sit on my bed, trying to compose myself.
The reason Sky's bedroom is so plain will be explained soon.
