A date?

I barely looked at Sky during dinner, I was still somewhat mad at him. But deep down, a part of me is scared. I don't want him to find out that the girl he might like, is just a lie. If he even likes me.

"So," Adaline puts down her cutlery, "How was your first surfing lesson Maya?" I move around some beans before replying. "Good, Sky sure knows how to  tease."
"Sorry?" She furrows her eyebrows.
"I said Sky sure knows how to teach." I risk a glance at Sky, and he narrows his eyes at me.
"I think he should open his own shop!" Sky groans.
"Wh-" he starts.
"And you can help Maya!"
"What?" I nearly choke on my pork chop.
"Yeah! It would be a great opportunity for you guys to bond." Adaline looks at the both of us, like she's hatching a plan to set us up.

At 10:00 at night, I hear a banging from outside. Looking out my window, I see Sky nailing pieces of wood together. "Hey!" I yell, "what are you doing?"
"Come down and find out yourself!" He yells back. Grumbling, I slip on my favourite hoodie, and head downstairs.

"What are you doing?" I yawn

"What are you doing?" I yawn.
"Making a Trojan horse." He replies sarcastically.
"Ha ha," I roll my eyes. "But what are you actually doing?" Sky sighs.
"Getting started on building the shop." I smile,
"You really want to do this don't you?"
"Well, yeah." He says sheepishly, rubbing the back of his neck. Which I've come to know as a nervous habit of his.

"Let me help." I pick up the hammer and a nail.
"Whoa there Bob the builder, you don't know the first thing about carpentry." I huff.
"Yes I do." I twirl the hammer around, but it goes flying out of my hand, and into the water. "Oops." I run, but of course my clumsy self trips, and I fall, my sweater and me, getting soaked.

I turn around, glaring at Sky, who was laughing at me. "Oh, you think this is funny do you?"
"Yeah," he laughs, "I do." I try to move out of the water, but my one foot won't budge.
"Sky help! I think something has my foot!" I laugh inside of my head as he rushes to my aid. "Hurry!" I urge. When Sky grabs my leg, I push him with all my might, and he falls into the water, now soaked, like me.

"What was that for?" He whines.
"Calling me Bob the builder." I turn my back on him. Big mistake. "PUT ME DOWN SKY!" I screech. Sky acts as if he didn't even hear me. Before I know it, I'm put down on the sand. I try to scramble away but Sky pins my arms and legs down with his, preventing me from getting away.

"You're going to pay for that." He says.
"I already have, look at my sweater!" I reply, earning a laugh. "Once again, this isn't funny!"
"It kind of is." I try to escape, but my attempt just makes Sky fall on top of me.

"Hi." He whispers.
"Hi." I say suspiciously.
"So," Sky tucks a stray hair behind my ear, "you kind of owe me now."
"For what?" I laugh.
"Getting me soaking wet."
"Oh come on Sky." I roll my eyes, "it's not that big of a deal."
"It is to me." He pouts.
"So what do I owe you oh mighty Sky?" I say sarcastically.
"A date."
"Excuse me?" My eyes widen in surprise.
"You heard me." He grins, "now be ready at 8:00 sharp tomorrow."
"Fine." I sigh, "now please get off me."

I do a happy twirl when I get into my room, and even after I climb into my bed and try to sleep, I can't get the smile off my face
