I wake up early, before the sun, to get a start on the surf shop. I do know how to build, my father taught me how, when I was just five, back when we lived in Texas, on our farm. That was, before he died, and my life forever changed.
I wipe my forehead with the back of my hand. The sun is starting to rise, not helping with my sweat issue. I'm about to nail another piece of wood when I hear, "so you yelled at me for waking you up last night, but here you are seven am nailing away." He shakes his head in disbelief as he sees that I managed to fishing the framing of the shop. "You do know how to build."
"Well duh Einstein, now here." I shove the hammer into his chest. "I'm going for a run."Sky's POV
I check the time and groan, it's 6:50, so who the hell would be crazy enough to be up, and making such a ruckus at this hour? Pulling myself out of bed, I throw on some random clothes, and head downstairs to snap at the person who disrupted my sleep.Maya is outside, and wow, does she ever look hot. With her workout pants and sports bra, I suddenly find it hard to breathe.
Skipping ahead to when Maya says........
"I'm going for a run." She tells me, after shoving the hammer into my chest. As soon as she turns around, I sprint up to my room and change into running gear.I'm sprinting to catch up to her, and when I get her in my sight, I pull of my shirt, mid sprint, pumping my legs and arms until I'm in front of her, where I turn until I'm running backwards.
"Why are you following me?" I'm amazed, she's not even out of breath, most girls I know start to sweat when they hear the word run.
"Just thought I'd join you." I answer, falling into step beside her.
"Well," she smiles, "good luck keeping up." Suddenly she changes direction, and starts to sprint back toward the house. Damn, she's fast. I have to push myself to catch her once more, and when I do, she suddenly stops. I'm running too fast, and wipe out. "Ha, oh my gosh!" Maya starts laughing, and when I pull myself off the ground, I notice that her laughter had stopped.
"What?"
Maya's POV
Sky says something to me, but I don't really hear. Other than when we went to the beach, I've never really seen him like this. He's sweaty from our sprint, covered in sand, and seems almost carefree."Maya," I snap out of my trance, seeing that Sky is right in front of me and grinning. "Were you checking me out?"
"No." I say smoothly as possible.
"Oh sweetheart, you're a terrible liar." I huff, and Sky freezes. Now he's staring at me. I blush, but quickly recover.
"Woah, eyes up here pal." I lift his chin with my finger, and his gaze immediately locks with mine. Stepping even closer to me Sky wraps his arms around my waist, but suddenly he pulls away, "Sorry." I hear him mumble, then he walks inside, slamming the door.Sky's POV
Gosh, I- I need to control myself, why- how does she do this to me? How can one person, who I just met, make me feel- actually make me feel something when I usually feel nothing? I walk over to my bookcase, pull Lord of the Rings, and watch as the bookcase swings inward.I come in here to release all my emotions by painting, it helps me relax. For as long as I remember I've always loved to paint, and been pretty good at too.
As soon as I touch the brush to the canvas, I know what I'm going to do.
Stepping away from my work, I realize that I'm falling for her, and hard. The thing that worries me though, is if she's falling with me, or not.
