Hideaway

Dearly Departed

"Rebecca, stay safe." I hold her tightly to my chest, and run out of the cellar. I sprint up the stairs, almost loosing my footing a couple times. When I reach the door, I feel all over it for some switch. Suddenly, the door slides back open, and I dash into the basement.
"Oh my gosh." There are four men lying dead on the floor. I carefully step around them, hiding Becca.

Slowly I ascend the stairs, and as I reach the top, I hear many raised voices. I push open the door, and what I see terrifies me.

Nico is fighting two guys at once. He shoots the first, then flips over him to shoot the other man.
"Nico!" I push the door open all the way. "Detrás de ti!" (Behind you!) He turns, firing at the man who was creeping up silently.
"Maya, ¿Que demonios estas haciendo aquí?" (What the hell are you doing here?) "I told you to stay put." His eyes are ablaze, as if a fire is burning within them.
"I- I'm sorry, I just, couldn't sit around."
"You and Rebecca could get hurt. I would die if anything happened to you two." He steps close, leaning in.
"Well, isn't this a lovely discovery. I see you take after your mother. You both can't stick to one man."

Nico and I turn at the voice, and I feel like I'm going to faint.
"Gregorvik Gunter."
"Ah yes, nicely done Maya, such a smart girl. I wonder, will your daughter be as smart as you?" He waves his gun at Rebecca.
"Don't you d-" Nico steps forward, but Gregorvik points his gun at me, and moves towards us.
"Uh uh Mr. Lacasa, wouldn't want your darling Maya to die now would we?" Suddenly Gregorvik shoves his gun against my head. I cry out in pain, which triggers Rebecca.
"I swear ты мудак (you a**hole) (and yes, Nico knows Russian.) "if you lay a hand on-"
"хватай его." Out of nowhere two giant men come and grab Nico, slamming him onto his knees.
"Nico!" I cry.
"Shut up, stupid girl." Gregorvik yanks my head back. I yell in pain.
"Somebody take her child while I deal with her and the boy." Another man comes, and rips Rebecca back right out of my arms.

"NO! PLEASE! GIVE ME MY BABY BACK! ILL DO WHATEVER YOU WANT JUST PLEASE." I full out sob and scream, but the man just sits down on a chair.
"Shut up!" Gregorvik yells. The room goes silent, except for Rebecca's cries.
"Please." I whisper, "she needs me. She needs to be fed." Gregorvik sighs.
"Fine. But don't try anything." Gregorvik releases me, and I sprint over to Rebecca.
"Oh, my baby, shh mama's here." I bounce her slightly, and she slowly stops crying.
"Hurry up сука." I glare at the big man standing beside me.
"Could I maybe get some privacy? o los hombres repugnantes como tú ven la lactancia materna?" (Or do disgusting men like you watch breastfeeding?) Gregorvik smiles evilly.
"Creo que me gustaría mirar, mi hermosa flor." (I think I would like to look, my beautiful flower.) He walks over to me, lifting my chin.

"Hands off my niece Gregorvik." Elena and Dorian speak at the same time, standing at the doorway, with Sky and Lilly. All have guns raised.
"Sky!" As soon as I take a step forward, men grab me.
"Get your hands off of her!" Sky runs, and gun shots go off. I close my eyes, ducking to the ground. When I open them, all the Russians, except Gregorvik, are dead.

"Well, that wasn't very nice, now was it?" Gregorvik roughly picks me up from the floor, and slams the barrel of his gun against my head.
"Maya-" Nico takes a step forward.
"If anybody moves, I'll kill her, and the baby. Which I really don't want to do because," Gregorvik strokes my cheek, looking into my eyes. "You are to be mi mujer." (My wife.) I spit into his face.
"I'd rather die." A sharp slap to my face.
"No! You will be my wife." I glare at Gregorvik, and he turns towards Nico, Sky, and Elena. "Try to stop me, and I'll kill the baby." I look down at a sleeping Rebecca, and my heart clenches.
"Please," I look into Sky's eyes. "Don't move." Gregorvik shoves me, and I stumble. Then, all hell breaks lose. All I see is Nico running towards us, then Gregorvik raising his gun. Dorian starts to run after him, then a gunshot goes off.

"No!" I yell. Elena jumps in front of Nico, falling to the ground. I break away from Gregorvik to run to my aunt's side. "Elena please." Sky takes Rebecca from my arms and I lean on my aunt. She's breathing, but it's faint.
"M-Maya." Her open halfway, and I hold back a sob. "Tú y Nico se hará cargo de la mafia." (You and Nico will help take over the Mafia.) "Please, please stay together and safe." She coughs, briefly closing her eyes. "You are my familia, and I-" My aunt coughs again. "Love you all."

I let out a sob, and kiss Elena  lightly on the forehead, then she closes her  eyes.
"You bastard!" Lilly cries. Nico stands up, fury evident on his face. Fury quickly turns to shock, so I turn around to see that Gregorvik is gone. Nico pulls out his gun and I jump up, blocking him from moving past. His brown eyes look almost black as he looks down at me.
"Maya, move."
"No." He glares at me before moving his gaze past me once more. "Hey! Hey!" I hit his chest. "Nico. Nico. Look at me." Slowly he relaxes, then meets my eyes. "This is not a good time to go after him! My ajnt just died and she was like a mother to you." I can see the anger slowly start to fade. "Who knows who else might injured, or dead. What I know, is that we can find him, we will find him, and make him pay. But now is not the time."  Nico blinks, then flashes his signature grin.
"No puedo esperar hasta que sea." (I can not wait until it is.)

HAAAAAA! Did you guys think it was over? NOPE. I just went through major writers block🙄 I was also attempting to write another story, which I might publish🤷‍♀️ but it also may not work out🤦🏽‍♀️
