Yan Yan

Tomorrow would be Su Xiaomi's transplant. After what felt like an eternity the day which Yan Yan had longed for to come was finally here. Su Xiaomi would be okay. In his heart, Yan Yan knew that there was nothing that would ever separate them after this. Today had been a busy day. Aside from the usual tests which had Xiaomi in and out of the hospital room, there were many people who had come to see him.

Yan Yan had given himself the week off specifically because of this. He did not want to be away from Su Xiaomi. His heart was at ease though his mind was still nervous. Currently, Yan Yan simply sat beside Su Xiaomi as he talked and laughed along with Yang Hui and Ying Xing. It had been a very long time since Yan Yan remembered them all being like this.

In the past, Yan Yan had assumed his friends simply tolerated Su Xiaomi. He'd always be grateful to them, seeing as they took care of Su Xiaomi. He was surprised that they'd stuck by Su Xiaomi, then again, maybe it was even more astounding that they'd been friends with him despite his shortcomings.

"How's Emma and your son?" Xiaomi asked Ying Xing

"You know." Ying Xing shrugged.

"It's stressful at home with the baby crying all the time. But we're happy. Emma's not too eager to go back to work. She doesn't want to leave Au Quan with her mother all day. She feels guilty."
"I'd think she'd be a little happy to be away from your kid." Yang Hui spoke smirking.

"What happened?" Xiaomi questioned Yang Hui who began to laugh while shaking his head. This, in turn, caused Ying Xing to look slightly embarrassed as he grabbed the back of his neck.

"Well?" Xiaomi questioned eagerly.

"Xiao Jie and I offered to babysit his little brat last weekend. We went over to their house and stayed in the nursery for a good 15 minutes. Au Quan cries as soon as Emma puts him down. Anyway, by the time we put him back down in his crib Xiao Jie and I headed to the living room and we watched a movie, had dinner, fed Au Quan after he woke up, changed him, got him back to sleep. The point is we spent the entire night taking care of the kid so this idiot could spend needed alone time with his wife."
"And?" Yan Yan questioned wanting Yang Hui to get to the point.

"It was 4 am and this guy wasn't home yet. I called his phone and heard it ring. Thought he'd forgotten it. Xiao Jie saw their car parked outside."
"You slept through your date." Yan Yan spoke with a smirk. This caused Xiaomi to laugh.

Yan Yan felt his heart warmed to hear Xiaomi laugh and found himself smiling back at him.

"We don't get much sleep." Ying Xing countered.

"Don't worry. I'll babysit when I get out of here. It's not the same seeing baby Au Quan in pictures that you and Emma show me." Xiaomi spoke with a pout.

"Fine. But get better first." Ying Xing spoke patting Xiaomi on the head and messing up the gray beany Xiaomi had on his head.

"We'll see you later then. We'll come back with everyone next time." Yang Hui spoke.

"I look forward to it," Xiaomi said with a smile before both Ying Xing and Yang Hui left the room leaving Yan Yan and Xiaomi alone.

"I can't wait to go home," Xiaomi spoke.

"I don't want Aunt and Uncle to keep coming here. They stress out too much. Aunt always looks like she's been crying." Xiaomi whispered softly.

"I want to go back to work.... I want to go out with my friends and..."
"You'll be fine." Yan Yan spoke up knowing that Xiaomi was nervous.
