Calling For Help

This will be a short chapter as I am kind of busy at the moment. I apologize for that but hope you like this chapter.

Yan Yan

When was the last time Yan Yan saw his parents? The last time he had seen them had been years ago. After Su Xiaomi he had tried his best to avoid them. It wasn't a secret that his father did not like Su Xiaomi. However, things had gone too far. Yan Yan was outraged at his father's actions. 

It was why he had personally gone to see him. In the past, he had sent Au Yang Jia, his cousin and even his own mother to give his father a message. Now, was not the time for that. He had been away from Su Xiaomi for five years. He wasn't going to allow anyone to hurt Su Xiaomi again. Not after he had been through so much.

After talking to Su Xiaomi's grandparents they had agreed to keep this from Su Xiaomi.

"Deal with it on your own. He is your father." Xiaomi's grandfather had said to him. 

It was why he was currently standing outside his parent's house. He'd walked in unannounced his mother didn't seem to mind as she smiled at him.

"Yan Yan. How are you? Why are you home all of a sudden?" There was a look in her eyes which Yan Yan now realized was longing. She would always fidget around him as if she had to contain herself from hugging him. Yan Yan didn't wish to be touched by her. 

Things like affection had been something both his father and mother had made sure Yan Yan never experience. Until Su Xiaomi that is. 

"Is father home?" There was a look in his mother's eyes which told Yan Yan that she knew well why he was here. Shaking her head she allowed Yan Yan to come in and led him to the living room. 

"He's not home yet. How is Su Xiaomi?"

"He's fine." Yan Yan was trying his best not to show his anger as he spoke.

"Yan Yan... please don't anger your father further."

"Anger him? I'm not asking him to accept me. I'm not asking him to respect my choices either because he clearly doesn't care enough."

"Not care. It's because I care that I cannot allow you to keep straying from what is the right path." His father was standing behind him and Yan Yan could only clench his fists trying to keep some composure.

"The right path. Don't act so righteous. Because you are not a man who can say all that."

"I've given you and your mother all that you could have wanted. I am a successful businessman and someone who society view highly." Yan Yan scoffed and coldly looked at his father.

"A righteous man would never dare to ask someone else's family to let their child die. Do you think I have learned what I have from others? I've learned to care about nothing and no one from you. Stay away from Su Xiaomi he has nothing to do with you.

"He continues to mislead my son into a life I did not choose for him."

"You don't get to chose my life! You don't get to chose who I live my life with. Su Xiaomi is not part of your world and neither am I. I was useless to you for most of my life and now that I can make my own choices you think you can somehow decide what I chose to do. I've allowed myself to bend to your whims and even allowed you to go as far as intervening with my life but not anymore. Stay away from Su Xaiomi. If I find out you've intervened once again I'll kill you."

A hand was raised and Yan Yan was struck by his father who glared at him. His mother gasped and tried to hold on to Yan Yan who shook her off him.

"You dare threaten me for that thing!"

"Yan Yan don't. Please!" His mother begged in tears when Yan Yan raised his fist up in anger. 

"You can have your company back. I don't want it. I've made enough money on my own and have my own businesses as well. I don't need you. I never have. But I do need Su Xiaomi."

"How can you say that when we are your family. We raised you."

"You paid others to raise me that's not the same thing." Yan Yan corrected coldly trying to walk away.

"If you walk out this door you forget about us. Don't you dare step one foot in this house again! I will make sure you never work another day in your life. We'll see if that golddigger can stand living with you when you're broke!" Yan Yan continued to walk away and did not look back. 

He had mixed feelings about this and in the end, he realized things might get harder but he would not burden Su Xiaomi with all of this. He needed to see Su Xiaomi and before long Yan Yan found himself outside of Su Xiaomi's shop.

From a distance, Yan Yan could see Xiaomi happily talking to a customer. There was a bright smile which lit up Su Xiaomi's face and Yan Yan couldn't help but smile himself. It had been a very long time since he had seen Su Xiaomi feeling happy. He wasn't going to allow anyone to take that away from him. If he was going to protect him then he would need someone to help him. Even if he had to lose face, he knew there was only someone else that could help him. Taking his phone out he dialed that number. It took a few moments but that person picked up.

"Hello." The voice spoke coldly.

"Let's talk."

Su Xiaomi

"So where are you going?" Xiao Jie questioned.

"Well we did all plan a trip together soon but... things change. Ying Xing now has a family and Yang Hui doesn't want to leave without you and you can't leave because I'm leaving, and someone has to run the shop."

"Sorry. I tried to tell him to go without me."

"Your relationship is new. Besides. I gladly follow Yan Yan even now. You're lucky that Yang Hui does the same." Xiaomi laughed when he saw Xiao Jie blush and shook his head.

"Besides. Maybe going away just the two of us isn't a bad thing. Yan and I need some time alone. Even if it's just a few days." Xiao Jie smiled at Su Xiaomi and the two continued to work. The door of the store rang with the sound of the bell and a new customer walked in.

"I'd like to buy a few things for my friend Bai Xiaosi who has just given birth."

The voice sounded familiar and when Su Xiaomi looked up he smiled brightly.

"Maiding!"

Maiding, who was at the other side of the counter smiled at Su Xiaomi who ran to him and hugged him tightly. It had been a very long time since he heard from his dear friend Mai Mai. 

"What are you doing here?" Su Xiaomi questioned to Maiding who pushed him off him gently trying to act cool though it only caused Su Xiaomi to laugh.

"My friend just had a baby. I heard you own this shop and we came to but a gift."

"We?" Xiaomi questioned Maiding who nodded. It was at that time that the door opened again and both An Ziyan and Yan Yan walked in.
