Misunderstandings

Love Trip Part 2

This chapter is short.

Su Xiaomi

"Are you ready to go?" Yan Yan asked Su Xiaomi. They had made plans to go out to dinner just the two of them. Xiaomi would be lying if he didn't say he was excited.

While he loved spending time with Maiding and even An Zi Yan he really wanted to spend some alone time with Yan Yan.  When they walked out of their hotel room and into the town car that Yan Yan had called for Xiaomi smiled. 

While they'd gone on dates before Xiaomi was just excited to be out with Yan Yan who had been working hard. They arrived to a small but expensive restaurant. They were led to their table by the hostess and the waiter was quick to take their order. Xiaomi didn't speak English and Yan Yan simply ordered for them. 

When the food came Xiaomi's eyes lit up when he realized it was steak. Red wine was served to both of them and Xiaomi smiled.

"You're allowing me to drink today?" He questioned. Yan Yan had always said he got out of hand when he drank. He expected some sort of remark from before but instead, Yan Yan nodded and the two began to eat quietly.

"I think I miss it a little Yan..." Xiaomi began. Yan Yan looks up at him in question and Xiaomi smiles at him. 

"The old us...Don't you? I look at An Zi Yan and Maiding...It feels like a lifetime ago that I was annoying you and arguing with you just because I was immature and spoiled." Yan Yan offers him a smile.

"I miss it too but...this is better We've reached a different stage in our relationship."

"I know...it's just a bit of nostalgia," Xiaomi says as he remembers the past. 

"I really caused a lot of trouble didn't I?"

"You still do? Su Xiaomi is the only one that can make me feel uneasy and happy at the same time." Xiaomi smiles at Yan Yan's words. He knows that these things are hard for Yan Yan. He'd always known this but in the past, he too had misunderstood Yan Yan. 

"Yan... Xiaomi is really happy to have come on this trip." Yan Yan smiles at him again. 

"We should have gone on more trips together." Yan Yan spoke. 

"You hate going out...Besides. I was happy. Up until those last days I'd like to think we were really happy. Maybe now it's different but...We're happy again aren't we?" Yan Yan nodded.

"You worked a lot and I understood that. But I liked being at home with Yan Yan the best."

"What about our trips? Where would you like to go next?" Yan Yan asked him. 

"I want to go camping again...or to the cabin. We don't have to go far...Xiaomi just wants to be with Yan Yan." 

"Don't you want to visit other places?" Yan Yan asked him.

"I'm happy as long as I'm with my friends and especially with Yan Yan. My favorite places to go was camping. I like fishing and spending time in the water. Camping and going to the cabin is quiet...maybe that was different back then. But I appreciate the simpler things now and the quiet." Xiaomi laughs at himself.

"It's weird isn't it? Before I hated quiet. I threw fits and Yan Yan would spoil me even when you pretended not to... Now Su Xiaomi has his own business, he likes quiet and doesn't let Yan Yan use all his money on him." Dessert is brought over and Xiaomi smiles. There is a strawberry piece of cake that is placed in front of him. 

"We didn't order this." Yan Yan speaks. Preventing Xiaomi from eating it what was placed in front of him.

"It's a gift from the table across from you." Xiaomi doesn't understand what they're saying but when the waiter points to another table he sees a couple of girls wave at Yan Yan and giggle. Normally Xiaomi would feel insecure and he would make a scene.
