Elsa.Toothless darts through the clouds in bullet speed. Elsa was on the brink of losing herself, while Hiccup reminds Toothless to easy up since Elsa is in a dress and is sitting sideways. Also she's acrophobic.
Though it's a good thing Elsa isn't vulnerable to the cold. Toothless slows down his speed and they were just in time to see the widespread of twinkling stars. "Look at all the stars! It's so beautiful." She finally lets out a positive laugh.
She peers over her shoulder to see Hiccup's respond. He smiles at her warmly, his hands still pressed against the queen's waists. Elsa chose not to remove them for his touch makes her feel safe.
Hiccup, on the other hand, somehow finds the tendrils of Elsa's platinum blonde hair satisfying when they would fly towards his face.
"I never told you this but, the man who sent you the letter..." Hiccup starts, already frowning at the next thing he's about to say. "Was my Dad. He was supposed to be the one who'd come here for allegiance, but he died a few months back, and I've been recently crowned Chief so here I am."
"Riding a dragon with Arendelle's Snow Queen." Elsa finishes, turning to him with a calm smile. Hiccup's eyes brighten up once again. "Oh Gosh, are those braids?" She says to the little braids on some parts of Hiccup's shaggy brown hair.
"Yeah, they are."
"It's unbelievable that I've never seen them before. I must really have a bad eyesight."
"You don't look like it, really."
"Is that supposed to be a joke?"
"Nope."
"Uhuh."
"Uhuh." He echoes her feminine tone.
Elsa couldn't help but giggle, and feel like she was just a girl without priorities and responsibilities, as though she wasn't a queen.
"It must be fun to be a dragon rider, Hiccup." Elsa says, now looking ahead as she glanced at her moon-kissed skin.
Sometimes, when she feels like running away, Elsa would imagine herself being a dragon rider. What it's like to train and live with them. To make them as your best friend. Now that she's finally riding one, flying one in thousands of meters away from the ground, she couldn't be more happy.
"I wish it could always be like this." She thought out loud.
Hiccup lets out a sympathetic smile, trying to imagine what it's like to be an all-around ruler. Of course, being a Chief of a town is already hard enough. But what about Elsa? She's leading a growing kingdom with a weak mental health. She needs someone to rely on, to talk to at days like this.
She needs dragon rides with someone daily to relieve the stress.
He wants to pull her close to him right now, let her know that she's not alone in this. But for the first time, he's afraid what she's gonna do to him.
Anna had told him about the 'fights' she have had with Elsa in the past. She told him how it wasn't safe to stress her or else she'd push you away, or hurt you, like freeze your heart and stuff.
Hiccup grew up with barely a mother on his side, while Elsa went through worse. All her youth, she forced herself in isolation, unable to find the good in the outside world anymore. She believed she was a monster.
If it weren't for Anna being strong and faithful for Elsa, Elsa would've build a whole destructive empire up the Northern Mountains and the curse of eternal winter will never be shunned in Arendelle.
Even though Hiccup doesn't live in Arendelle, he feels proud to be witnessing the supernatural powers the queen is gifted with.
They've returned to the docks after the night came by fully. Elsa was already heading out when Hiccup had called for her to come back.
"Elsa, you still haven't told me about your powers."
She was all throughout confused and annoyed. She hates it when people talk about her ability and how it seems to frighten them sometimes. "Yeah. I'm blessed with beauty but cursed with magical ice powers."
"You're not cursed, Els."
Els. Elsa thought Anna was the only one who'd call her that.
Hiccup continues as he steps forward to her as well, "you're gifted, and you should be proud of it."
Like the way you're proud of your prosthetic foot? She was about to add, but it'd be cruel and rude of her if she did so. "We should start planning on the upcoming war tomorrow. Tell your friends, too, if you must."
Hiccup watches her leave, so does Toothless.
Hiccup couldn't get enough amount of sleep that night. His mind was too full of Elsa.
Elsa this, Elsa that. It's helluva haunting. What's even more worse is Astrid is sleeping peacefully at his chest, his heartbeats are lullabies to her.
I can't feel a spark between us now, Hiccup frowns. But I'm trying to rekindle another. You're my fiancée, you've been at my side for the past five years. And you were there when my Dad died. You were there cheering for me when I beat Drago's Alpha. You were there. You were always here, Astrid.
And Elsa wasn't.
