Elsa.
"So, where have you been all day?" Hiccup asks.
Unlike the other nosy questions in Elsa's past, Hiccup didn't made her annoyed. She scoffs, "miss me much?"
"Yeah, I mean no... well, kind of." He stammers and looks away in embarrassment.
Elsa chuckles softly and takes a peak on his face. She admires the shaved beard of his on his jaw, and the little braids hidden underneath his shaggy brown hair. Especially his height. Elsa felt herself sigh in awe.
It's such bad timing how he's already engaged.
"I was at the woods," Elsa speaks up, getting back Hiccup's attention. "Meeting an old friend."
"Should I be worried about this 'old friend'?" Hiccup asks.
"Clearly not."
"Well, is he a secret lover of yours?"
"Less likely."
"An old girl best friend?"
"Nope."
Hiccup stops after they reached the end of the longest hallway in the castle. Elsa stops as well, and the air begins to warm up, building a strange tension between them.
Hiccup reaches the sapphire gemstone Ruffnut had found back at his bedroom. Elsa's eyes widen in surprise. "This is yours, isn't it?"
"Y-Yes, it is." Elsa hesitates to pick it up from Hiccup's palm. When she did finally, her hands brushed against his. It was the best feeling she had felt in ages. "How'd you found it?" She says, inspecting the sapphire.
"I found it at my room, at the night table drawers."
Flashbacks arise in Elsa's head, one including where Jack is teaching her how to make a sapphire out of her powers. Yes, this was Jack's creation. She hid it in one of the guest rooms but forgotten where she put it.
Hiccup smiles as the moon light seeps from a window behind Elsa, illuminating her beautiful features. Her hair has become silver, and her skin becoming porcelain.
He has this weird feeling in him that wants him to kiss her right now, in this very spot where they're alone. But again, he's afraid. What if she'll react differently? What if she doesn't feel the same way? What if she'll break the alliance?
A million questions ran deep in Hiccup's mind that forced him to shake his temptations away.
"You wanna see something magical?" Elsa asks suddenly.
Hiccup snaps off his own trance and nods.
Elsa pulls him closer to her as she lifts the sapphire up to the moonlight. "Do you see something inside?"
Focusing, Hiccup winces as the background blurs and the gem clears. "I see a snowflake." He mutters.
Elsa smiles and glances at his side profile. She felt confident enough to kiss him on the cheek, so she did.
Hiccup stares at her in surprise. Elsa's smile melts and her brows furrowed. "I-I'm sorry-"
Hiccup had lost all of his resistance to her magnetizing beauty that he had been the one to smash his lips on hers.
The feeling is so warm, so addictive that it makes him unable to stop.
Elsa groped her hands around Hiccup's neck as the sapphire brightens due to her power reacting to her emotions.
Hiccup pulls her so close to him he could barely breath. Elsa releases herself from the kiss. They watch themselves catch their breaths with smiles.
She chuckles and pulls his head a little nearer to hers to make their foreheads touch. Hiccup's forehead is full of hot sweat, while Elsa's is ice cold. When they touch, it was like ice met fire.
Unbeknownst that they were not alone after all, the person who's been watching them for the past couple of minutes finally emerged from the darkness. "Elsa?"
Elsa steps back upon seeing a stunned Jack standing between the light and the dark.
Hiccup's eyes widen when he recognizes him. "Jackson?"
Jack turns to Hiccup, his blood boiling. "Of all the people, you could've kissed. Why my brother?"
"What?" Elsa's eyes surrender to the ground. Hiccup grips Elsa's hand softly.
"I saw you die, Jack." Hiccup bellows.
"You did. But a couple of years later, I revived. Like what I said little brother, legends never die." Jack sneers, making Hiccup's scowl as hard as a rock.
"Wait, wait, wait," Elsa cuts in. "You're siblings? Jack why didn't you told me this before?"
"You know each other?" Hiccup chimes in.
As the conversation turns into dead ends, Elsa glances back and forth to the two men in front of her, completely puzzled.
Jack stays relaxed, hands crossed over his chest as he waits for either the two of them to speak up again. Speechless, Elsa walks out of the conversation.
Hiccup was about to follow when Jack grasps his hand. Hiccup quickly jerks it away. "Jesus, aren't you happy to see me?"
"I saw you die. And now you're standing in front of me as though that didn't happen. Of course I'm not happy to see you. In fact I'm horrified to see you rise from the dead." Hiccup deadpans.
"So, how's Dad?"
"Dead, like what you're supposed to be right now!" Hiccup snaps in front of him before he finally leaves the hallway, leaving Jack all alone.
