THIRTY:
Tuesday, July 12th
10:00 AM"I can't wait to get you home," Klaus growled in my ear. "Tear this dress right off of you. Who told you, you could wear something this tight and sexy?"
I giggled, looking up at him. "Shhh," I shushed him and he smirked down at me. His arm around my shoulders, his hand under the collar of my black dress to tug at my bra strap. "Stop it."
"Never," he grinned, leaning down and placing a kiss on my cheek. "Can't get enough of you, baby girl. I want you again and again."
"Does sex fix everything between you two?" Elijah spoke up. Klaus and I both looked to our left at him. We were walking along the parade for Father Kieran. I was on Klaus' right while on the left was Hayley between the two brothers.
"Yes," Klaus snapped and I elbowed him in the ribs. "N-no."
"You're an idiot," I laughed. "Get off me," I added, shrugging his arm off my shoulder.
"But?" Klaus smiled.
"But what?" I frowned. "That's it."
"You're supposed to say but I'm your idiot," he said, rolling his eyes.
I smiled, shaking my head, "now why would I want to claim an idiot?"
"You're so mean," he whispered, narrowing his eyes and snatching my hand to hold as we continued to walk.
"But you love me" I grinned. Before Klaus could say anything Hayley broke into a small coughing fit. Again. She's been doing that all morning.
"You alright? You look—" Elijah was speaking.
"A hundred months pregnant and pissed off at the world?" Hayley assumed.
"I was going to say you look lovely," Elijah replied and I made a gagging gesture that only Klaus could see.
"Stop," Klaus laughed, squeezing my hand.
"Do you think I was the target of those bombings?" Hayley asked.
"Of course you were the target!" Klaus said and I snorted. He's so extra and dramatic. "Were I to wage a war on the wolves, you'd be my first kill! I would string you up, for all your worshippers to see."
"Klaus," I scolded.
"I believe that was my brother's way of telling you he'd like you to return home with us," Elijah spoke up again. "Perhaps try a different approach, Niklaus, with fewer references to murder?"
"As much as I would hate to throw you over my shoulder, and drag you kicking and screaming to the compound, we both know I will," Klaus smiled innocently, making Hayley scoff. "For the sake of my child," he added.
"One bad dream, and suddenly, you want to be a responsible daddy," Hayley said.
Klaus' hand left mine and he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling her close until their heads nearly touched. "Let me put this into perspective: my father lived to torment me. It is not my intention to become him. This cycle of misery ends with my child," he whispered.
"Mmm," Hayley hummed before pushing him away with a bitter smiled. "You forgot one thing in your little attempt to plead your case-- she's not your child. She's ours."
The pregnant brunette then walked off, leaving the three of us. "Very heartfelt, Niklaus," Elijah commented.
"I bloody hate funerals," Klaus grumbled. I wrapped a hand around his arm pulling him back to me.
